Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Sequence Characterization and Spatiotemporal Expression Patterns of PbS26-RNase Gene in Chinese White Pear (Pyrus bretschneideri)

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
Many flowering plants exhibit an important intraspecific reproductive barrier phenomenon, that is, self-incompatibility (SI), in which S-RNase genes play a significant role.

A study of ribonuclease activity in venom of vietnam cobra

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science and Technology, 2017
Background Ribonuclease (RNase) is one of the few toxic proteins that are present constantly in snake venoms of all types. However, to date this RNase is still poorly studied in comparison not only with other toxic proteins of snake venom, but also with ...

Proteins Rpr2 and Pop3 increase the activity and thermal stability of yeast RNase P

open access: yesRNA Biology, 2023
RNA-based enzyme RNase P is a ribonucleoprotein complex responsible primarily for 5’-maturation of tRNAs. S. cerevisiae RNase P comprises a catalytic RNA component and nine proteins. The assembly and maturation of S.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Failure to detect "cap" structures in mitochondrial DNA-coded poly(A)-containing RNA from HeLa cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
The structure of the 5'-termini has been investigated in mitochondrial DNA- coded poly(A)-containing RNA from HeLa cells. For this purpose, mitochondrial RNA isolated from cells labeled for 3 hours with [32P]orthophosphate in the presence of 20 µg/ml ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

ASSOCIATION BETWEEN PR PROTEINS WITH RIBONUCLEASE ACTIVITY AND PLANT RESISTANCE AGAINST PATHOGENIC FUNGI

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2014
Pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins participate in complex plant defense response to pathogens. It is known that members of two PR-proteins families (PR-4 and PR-10) exhibit ribonuclease activity in some cases.

The correlation of RNase A enzymatic activity with the changes in the distance between Nepsilon2-His12 and N delta1-His119 upon addition of stabilizing and destabilizing salts. [PDF]

open access: yes
The effect of stabilizing and destabilizing salts on the catalytic behavior of ribonuclease A (RNase A) was investigated at pH 7.5 and 25 degrees C, using spectrophotometric, viscometric and molecular dynamic methods.
