Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Pressure induced high-spin to low-spin transition in FeS evidenced by x-ray emission spectroscopy
We report the observation of the pressure-induced high-spin to low-spin transition in FeS using new high-pressure synchrotron x-ray emission spectroscopy techniques. The transition is evidenced by the disappearance of the low-energy satellite in the Fe K$

This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Multicolor fluorescent lineage analysis: A retroviral-based mouse system for studying muscle stem cells [PDF]
Adult tissues require stem cells for function and maintenance. Adult stem cell populations are often comprised of cells with varied potential to differentiate or self-renew.

This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Analytic studies on satellite detection of severe, two-cell tornadoes [PDF]
It is argued that a two-cell structure is likely to be the unique property, and potentially satellite-accessible observable, of the exceptionally severe tornado.

[Are satellite cells stem cells?].
Satellite cells, localized in the niche between the membrane of muscle fiber and basal lamina that surrounds it, serve as a source of myoblasts that are necessary for both growth and regeneration of skeletal muscle. Apart from their ability to convert into myoblasts, satellite cells are also able to self-renew, thus, they meet requirements for tissue ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries
