Schisandrin B Prevents Doxorubicin-Induced Cardiotoxicity via Enhancing Glutathione Redox Cycling [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Cancer Research, 2007
Abstract Purpose: The dose-cumulative cardiotoxicties and the emerging cancerous apoptotic/drug resistance are two major obstacles limiting the efficacy of anthracycline antibiotics, notably doxorubicin. We attempted to prove if schisandrin B (Sch B), a dual inhibitor of P-glycoprotein and multidrug resistance–associated protein 1, could

Molecular alterations that drive breast cancer metastasis to bone. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Epithelial cancers including breast and prostate commonly progress to form incurable bone metastases. For this to occur, cancer cells must adapt their phenotype and behaviour to enable detachment from the primary tumour, invasion into the vasculature ...

Determination of Schisandrin A and Schisandrin B in Traditional Chinese Medicine Preparation Huganpian Tablet by RP-HPLC

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2019
A reverse phase (RP)-HPLC method for separation and determination of Schisandrin A and Schisandrin B was presented, using a C18 Bondclone column, with methanol-water (v/v = 68 : 32) as mobile phase at a flow-rate of 1.00 mL·min-1, and UV detection at 220 nm. The tested parameters included mobile phase composition and UV detection wavelength.

Expression profiling of the retina of pde6c, a zebrafish model of retinal degeneration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Retinal degeneration often affects the whole retina even though the disease-causing gene is specifically expressed in the light-sensitive photoreceptors. The molecular basis of the retinal defect can potentially be determined by gene-expression profiling
