Selenoprotein H Functions as a PPARα Coactivator to Link Selenium Homeostasis to Hepatic Lipid Metabolism and Protect against Steatohepatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study identifies selenium deficiency as a hallmark of MASH pathogenesis. Dietary selenium supplementation enhances hepatic fatty acid oxidation (FAO) and attenuates MASH progression by activating the PPARα pathway via selenoprotein H (SELENOH). This selenium‐SELENOH‐PPARα nexus redefines the functional scope of selenoproteins, moving from redox ...

Yield Components among Sour Cherry Seedlings [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Horticultural Science, 1992
Yield components were measured from 115 sour cherry (Prunus cerasus L.) hybrid seedlings from 13 full-sib families to investigate the potential of breeding for increased yield. Those families with the highest number of fruit and reproductive buds had the highest yields.

Gut Microbiota‐Non‐Coding RNA Axis in Immune Modulation and Disease: From Mechanisms to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune homeostasis is indispensable for preserving organismal integrity, orchestrated through complex molecular networks encompassing immune cell dynamics, microbial cues, and epigenetic regulation. Among these, the gut microbiota‐non‐coding RNA (ncRNA) axis has recently garnered substantial attention as a multifaceted modulator of host ...

Unlocking Plant‐Derived Potential: Regulating Microcrystalline Structure Design of High‐performance Hard Carbon Anodes via Cellulose Molecules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The microcrystalline structure of hard carbon derived from green sandalwood is modulated by controlling the steric hindrance effect of the precursor, thereby significantly enhancing ion diffusion kinetics. When utilized in sodium‐ion batteries, it demonstrates excellent cycle life, exceeding 7000 cycles, as well as superior low‐temperature performance,

Flower characters and self-fertilization capacity in relation to the bee pollination at sour cherry cultivars

open access: yesInternational Journal of Horticultural Science, 2006
Detailed studies and comparisons were carried out on those flower characters of sour cherry cultivars that may affect bee pollination of flowers. Flower characters of sour cherry are fairly similar to other temperate zone fruit tree species.

Origin of subgenomes in the circumboreal, allopolyploid, carnivorous plant Drosera anglica

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise The parentage of the widespread allopolyploid Drosera anglica, a member of the carnivorous sundew genus, remains uncertain despite over 100 years of morphological, cytological, and, more recently, molecular study. Methods Using transcriptomic and genomic data from 12 species of Drosera sect. Drosera, including four D.
