Rapid Human Skin Barrier Disruption by Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate and Associated Molecular Mechanisms
Short‐term exposure to SDS rapidly disrupts human skin barrier integrity within minutes, as detected by real‐time electrical impedance spectroscopy. SDS‐induced barrier dysfunction is driven by oxidative stress, leading to suppression of immune/barrier mediators and activation of stress, lipid remodeling, and epidermal differentiation pathways ...

ABSTRACT The skin is far from a passive shield; it functions as a dynamic “living barrier” whose structural and immunological integrity is paramount in preventing atopic dermatitis (AD) and the subsequent progression of the atopic march toward food allergy (FA).

Is there a role for cannabidiol in obesity, metabolic syndrome and binge eating?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant phytocannabinoids isolated from the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD is a lipophilic, non‐intoxicating substance that differently from Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9‐THC) does not present the typical profile of a drug of abuse.

This study mimics clinical patch testing for the diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis, by application of patch test preparations of fragrance terpenes to ex vivo human skin samples. The study investigates the penetration of linalool hydroperoxide and limonene hydroperoxide in skin, alongside an analysis of the lipid‐modifying effects of the patch ...

Ferroptosis is driven by unrestricted peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acyl (PUFA) chains in membrane phospholipids. In triple‐negative breast cancer cells, lipid droplets (LDs) sequester dietary PUFAs, limiting their incorporation into membrane phospholipids, preventing mitochondrial damage, and reducing lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.
