Epidemiology of invasive Haemophilus influenzae serotype a disease in the North American Arctic, 2006–2017

open access: yesInternational Journal of Circumpolar Health, 2022
Invasive Haemophilus influenzae type a (iHia) disease was detected in Alaska and Northern Canada in 2002 and 2000, respectively. From 2006 to 2017, 164 iHia cases (Alaska=53, Northern Canada=111) were reported.

Convectively‐Induced Turbulence: High‐Resolution Aircraft Measurements Over Central Argentina

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 21, 16 November 2026.
Abstract We investigate a convectively‐induced turbulence (CIT) event encountered by the German High‐Altitude Long‐Range research aircraft (HALO) over central Argentina during the Southern Hemisphere Transport, Dynamics, and Chemistry campaign. Convectively‐induced turbulence is analyzed using in situ 1, 10‐, and 100‐Hz flight‐level data, complemented ...

Different gut microbiome dysbioses impact the evolutionary fate of hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2026.
Transient exposure to ampicillin results in restructuring of microbiota to favor oxygen‐tolerant bacteria, whereas osmotic laxative perturbation preserves Bacteriodota. Ampicillin‐ but not laxative‐exposed environment favors establishment of rmpA phase variants that lost hypermucoviscosity but short‐chain fatty acids present in the laxative‐exposed gut

Pathogenic Foodborne Bacteria in the Game Meat of Hunted Large Ungulates—A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Zoonotic bacterial pathogens are a major concern for food safety, yet information regarding their occurrence in game meat remains fragmented. This systematic review synthesizes available data on Salmonella spp., Shiga toxin‐producing Escherichia coli (STEC), Listeria spp., Yersinia spp., and Campylobacter spp.

Clonal diversity of Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates in Myanmar: identification of novel ST1407 harbouring blaNDM-1

open access: yesNew Microbes and New Infections, 2021
Recent Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates in a teaching hospital in Myanmar comprised three major sequence types (ST2, ST16 and ST23) and two sporadic STs, showing a high resistance rate to carbapenem associated with blaOXA-23.

Whole Genome Characterization of Klebsiella Strains in European Hedgehogs and Human Nosocomial Settings Identified Shared Sequence Types, Antimicrobial Resistance Genes and Plasmids

open access: yesZoonoses and Public Health, Volume 73, Issue 6, Page 516-527, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Klebsiella pneumoniae is a pathogen associated with healthcare‐acquired infections and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to beta‐lactams and carbapenems. Although wild animals are not typically exposed to antibiotics, they can harbour resistant strains. The European hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus) is increasingly found in urban areas,

Antimicrobial Resistance and Genomic Characterization of OXA-48- and CTX-M-15-Co-Producing Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae ST23 Recovered from Nosocomial Outbreak

open access: yes, 2020
Multidrug resistance (MDR) and hypervirulence (hv) have been long considered distinct evolutionary traits for Klebsiella pneumoniae (Kp), a versatile human pathogen. The recent emergence of Kp strains combining these traits poses a serious global threat.

Eco‐Geography Reverses Dominant AMR Reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae: Integron‐Rich Mobilomes and Cross‐Niche Connectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 42, 28 July 2026.
Dominant antimicrobial resistance reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae vary across eco‐geographic settings rather than following a universal pattern. Integrated One Health and global genomic analyses show that lineage structure, integron load, and cross‐niche connectivity shape whether AMR burden accumulates primarily in human or nonhuman compartments ...
