Myo‐Inositol, a Cofactor in the Biosynthesis of Stachyose [PDF]
In extracts from Phaseolvs vulgaris seeds an enzyme has been found which transfers the galactosyl moiety of galactinol to raffinose giving rise to stachyose and myo‐inositol. Two tests to measure the enzyme activity are described. The reaction is reversible. An equilibrium constant of approximately 4 has been determined for .

Inorganic nitrogen availability alters Eucalyptus grandis receptivity to the ectomycorrhizal fungus Pisolithus albus but not symbiotic nitrogen transfer. [PDF]
Forest trees are able to thrive in nutrient-poor soils in part because they obtain growth-limiting nutrients, especially nitrogen (N), through mutualistic symbiosis with ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi.

Labeling Pattern of Translocated Stachyose in Squash [PDF]
One mature blade of each squash plant was continuously labeled with (14)CO(2) for 15, 30, or 70 minutes in light. The ethanol soluble materials from serial sections of petioles were extracted and separated by paper chromatography. The ratios of label in the various components of this fraction were determined.
