The aim of this study was to compare the in vitro osteo/odontogenic differentiation potential of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from the dental pulp (dental pulp stem cells - DPSCs) or the apical papilla (stem cells from the apical papilla - SCAP) of permanent developing teeth.DPSCs and SCAP cultures were established from impacted third molars ...

CD24 was suggested as a marker to SCAPs and has been reported for a decade. CD24 has been shown to involve stem cell activities such as self-renewal, proliferation and differentiation. However, the percentage variations of CD24 positive cells were reported among the studies. It is possible that this variation may affect these SCAPs behaviors.

Effect of simvastatin on stem cell isolated from apical papilla (SCAP) in vitro
Background and Objective: Simvastatin, known for lipid-lowering, shows promise in modulating stem cell behavior. This research investigates simvastatin's impact on apical papilla stem cells (SCAPs) in vitro. Methods: SCAPs were isolated, characterized, and exposed to varying simvastatin doses.openaire +1 more source
