Comparative analysis of in vitro osteo/odontogenic differentiation potential of human dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) and stem cells from the apical papilla (SCAP)

Archives of Oral Biology, 2011
The aim of this study was to compare the in vitro osteo/odontogenic differentiation potential of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from the dental pulp (dental pulp stem cells - DPSCs) or the apical papilla (stem cells from the apical papilla - SCAP) of permanent developing teeth.DPSCs and SCAP cultures were established from impacted third molars ...

Comparative analysis of in vitro periodontal characteristics of stem cells from apical papilla (SCAP) and periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs)

Archives of Oral Biology, 2013
The aim of this study was to compare the in vitro periodontal properties of stem cells from apical papilla (SCAP) and periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs).SCAP and PDLSCs cultures were established from normal human impacted third molars with immature roots.

Comparison of stem cell behaviors between indigenous high and low-CD24 percentage expressing cells of stem cells from apical papilla (SCAPs)

Tissue and Cell, 2016
CD24 was suggested as a marker to SCAPs and has been reported for a decade. CD24 has been shown to involve stem cell activities such as self-renewal, proliferation and differentiation. However, the percentage variations of CD24 positive cells were reported among the studies. It is possible that this variation may affect these SCAPs behaviors.

Effect of simvastatin on stem cell isolated from apical papilla (SCAP) in vitro

Background and Objective: Simvastatin, known for lipid-lowering, shows promise in modulating stem cell behavior. This research investigates simvastatin's impact on apical papilla stem cells (SCAPs) in vitro. Methods: SCAPs were isolated, characterized, and exposed to varying simvastatin doses.
