Multi-state Energy Landscape for Photoreaction of Stilbene and Dimethyl-stilbene
Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation, 2022We have recently developed the reaction space projector (ReSPer) method, which constructs a reduced-dimensionality reaction space uniquely determined from reference reaction paths for a polyatomic molecular system and projects classical trajectories into the same reaction space.

Natural stilbenes: an overview
Natural Product Reports, 2009Natural stilbenes have been a hot research topic due to their intricate structures and diverse biological activities. Although their molecular backbone consists only of 1,2-diphenylethylene units, stilbenes show an enormous diversity with regard to the different units present, the degree of polymerisation, and the pattern of oligomer construction. From

Abstract Spectra and shifts, fluorescence quantum yields and lifetimes of 4,4′-dimethylaminostilbene (DDS) and the bridged derivatives DDS-B15 and DDS-B24 were measured as a function of solvent polarity and temperature. The behavior of DDS and DDS-B15 is interpreted in terms of the intramolecular rotational relaxation around the single bond ...

The stilbene derivatives, nucleosides, and nucleosides modified by stilbene derivatives
Bioorganic Chemistry, 2019In this short review, including 187 references, the issues of biological activity of stilbene derivatives and nucleosides and the biological and medicinal potential of fusion of these two classes are discussed. The stilbenes, especially the stilbenoids, and nucleosides are both biologically active.

ESR Studies of Electron Transfer: trans-Stilbene—Stilbene− System
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1967The rate of electron transfer between the stilbene anion radical and trans-stilbene has been measured in dimethoxyethane and tetrahydrofuran. The second-order rate constants are approximately 109 liters mole−1·sec−1, and the activation energies fall between 2 and 3 kcal mole−1.

Abstract Infrared spectra in the range 4000-50 cm −1 and Raman spectra in the range 4000-20 cm −1 of powdered samples of trans -stilbene, nine partially deuterated trans -stilbenes, and perdeutero trans -stilbene were recorded. The assignment based on group vibrational concept and isotopic shifts for most fundamental vibrations of all eleven ...

Conformations and Fluorescence of Encapsulated Stilbene
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2012Absorption and emission spectra of free and encapsulated stilbene in two different capsules were calculated using the DFT and the TDDFT methodology at the B3LYP, CAM-B3LYP, M06-2X, PBE0, and ωB97X-D/6-31G(d,p) levels of theory. The present work is directed toward the theoretical interpretation of recent experimental results on control of stilbene ...

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2003
The title compound, 4'-methoxy-alpha,2,3',4-tetranitrostilbene, C(15)H(10)N(4)O(9), crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group P2(1)/c with one molecule in the asymmetric unit. The phenyl rings are inclined to one another and form a dihedral angle of 57.4 (1) degrees.

Stilbenes from Sphaerophysa salsula
Fitoterapia, 2002A new stilbene, (trans)-4-[2-(3, 5-dimethoxyphenyl) ethenyl]-1,2-benzenediol (1), was isolated from the whole herbs of Sphaerophysa salsula, together with (trans)-4-[2-(3, 5-dimethoxy phenyl) ethenyl]-2-methoxyphenol (2) and daucosterol. The structure of 1 was determined on the basis of spectroscopic evidences.
