Role of TRPC Channels in Store-Operated Calcium Entry
2016Store-operated calcium entry (SOCE) is a ubiquitous Ca(2+) entry pathway that is activated in response to depletion of Ca(2+) stores within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and contributes to the control of various physiological functions in a wide variety of cell types.

Mitochondria's Role in Store‐Operated Calcium Entry
The FASEB Journal, 2008Inflammatory agonists deplete calcium from the endoplasmic reticulum and activate calcium entry in a process referred to as store‐operated calcium (SOC). Calcium store depletion can be distinctly measured from calcium entry using a recalcification protocol, in which store depletion is activated in the presence of low extracellular calcium.

Molecular Basis and Regulation of Store-Operated Calcium Entry
2019Store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) is a ubiquitous mechanism for Ca2+ influx in mammalian cells with important physiological implications. Since the discovery of SOCE more than three decades ago, the mechanism that communicates the information about the amount of Ca2+ accumulated in the intracellular Ca2+ stores to the plasma membrane channels and the ...

Store-Operated Calcium Entry Channels
2017Store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) channels mediate Ca2+ influx from the extracellular milieu into the cytosol to regulate a myriad of cellular functions. The Ca2+-release activated Ca2+ current has been well characterized in non-excitable cells such as immune cells.

"TRPping" the Switch for Store-Operated Calcium Entry
Science Signaling, 2000Agents that signal by increasing the intracellular concentration of free Ca 2+ often cause both release of Ca 2+ from intracellular stores and influx of Ca 2+ through channels in the plasma membrane.

Pharmacology of Store-Operated Calcium Entry Channels
2017In general, calcium signaling in non-excitable cells is primarily initiated by the activation of surface membrane receptors coupled to phospholipase C (PLC) and stimulates a calcium signaling process that is complex both spatially and temporally, involving the interplay of calcium channels and calcium pumps [1].

Is there a role for store-operated calcium entry in vasoconstriction?
American Journal of Physiology-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology, 2001transitions in cytosolic calcium concentration ([Ca2+]i) represent an important physiological signal in cells ([1][1]). A rise in smooth muscle cell [Ca2+]i activates myosin light chain kinase, which promotes myosin light chain phosphorylation and actomyosin interaction.

Insights into the Regulation of Store-operated Calcium Entry
2015Calcium (Ca2+) ions serve a crucial role in numerous intracellular signaling pathways, controlling physiological functions as diverse as cell proliferation, immune system function, and muscular contraction. As such, the cell has evolved many different mechanisms to precisely control the movement of Ca2+ ions into and out of various cellular ...
