The Prognostic Significance of Tertiary Lymphoid Structures in Head and Neck Cancers: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Oral Pathology &Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), particularly oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), is associated with poor survival despite therapeutic advances. Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) are emerging components of the tumor microenvironment, but their prognostic significance in HNSCC remains unclear.

Prognostic Significance of the Tumour Microenvironment in Surgically Resected Canine Pulmonary Adenocarcinomas

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The prognostic relevance of the tumour microenvironment in surgically resected canine pulmonary adenocarcinomas (cPACs) remains uncertain. This retrospective single‐centre cohort study evaluated associations between intratumoural immune features and postoperative outcomes.

Quantifying Tertiary Lymphoid Structure-Associated Genes in Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded Breast Cancer Tissues.

open access: yes, 2018
Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) have been detected in several types of human solid tumors. These structures are thought to regulate local adaptive immune responses that can promote or antagonize tumor progression.

Cancer Heterogeneity and Cancer Cell Plasticity: Molecular Mechanisms and Precision Therapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Tumor progression is driven by heterogeneity occurring across multiple biological scales. At the molecular level, tumor cells exhibit alterations across distinct omics layers, including genomic mutations, epigenomic reprogramming, transcriptional changes, and proteomic remodeling, collectively shaping tumor cell phenotypes and functional states.

DataSheet_1_Impact of mature tertiary lymphoid structures on prognosis and therapeutic response of Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric cancer patients.pdf

open access: yes, 2022
BackgroundEpstein-Barr virus-associated gastric cancer (EBVaGC) exhibits unique histological characteristics within the immune-cell-rich microenvironment, but the role of tertiary lymphoid structure (TLS) in EBVaGC is not yet fully understood.MethodsWe ...

Venetoclax‐Integrated Conditioning Strategies Prior to Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Myeloid Neoplasms: A Scoping Review of Emerging Evidence

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, Volume 117, Issue 1, Page 117-131, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo‐HSCT) remains the only potentially curative therapy for many patients with high‐risk myeloid neoplasms, yet relapse and transplant‐related toxicity continue to limit durable benefit.

Compartment‐Specific Immune Remodeling of Renal Aging With C1q‐Associated Podocyte Activation

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Aging repatterns the renal immune response in a compartment‐specific manner, distinct from chronic kidney disease (CKD) adaptation. Glomerular aging features C1q‐associated podocyte activation and macrophage engagement, whereas tubulointerstitial aging is marked by B‐cell aggregation and tertiary lymphoid structure expansion.

Tumor-associated tertiary lymphoid structure predicts postoperative outcomes in patients with primary gastrointestinal stromal tumors

open access: yes, 2020
Tumor-infiltrating tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) are thought to have anti-tumor activity and are believed to indicate a favorable prognosis in cancer patients. However, the prognostic value of TLS in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) is unknown.

Improved Systemic Immunochemotherapy Employing an Oxaliplatin‐TLR7/8 Agonist Prodrug Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
A platinum(IV) prodrug is developed to systemically deliver the TLR7/8 agonist gardiquimod. Tumor‐targeting is mediated by an albumin‐binding maleimide, which limits premature complex activation. Ox‐Gardi‐Mal accumulates specifically in the tumor, where it activates the immune system.

Current status and prospects of tertiary lymphoid structure heterogeneity in predicting response to neoadjuvant therapy and characterizing immune microenvironment in triple-negative breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yesZhongguo aizheng zazhi
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly aggressive and prognostically unfavorable subtype. Tertiary lymphoid structure (TLS) within the tumor microenvironment, comprising dendritic cells, B cells, T cells, and other immune cells, modulate the ...
