Natural killer cell stimulatory factor (interleukin 12 [IL-12]) induces T helper type 1 (Th1)-specific immune responses and inhibits the development of IL-4-producing Th cells

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1993
The effects exerted on the in vitro development of antigen-specific T cell lines and T cell clones by addition or neutralization of interleukin 12 (IL-12) in lymphocyte bulk culture were examined.

Th1/Th2 in aspergillosis [PDF]

open access: yesMedical Mycology, 2006
The outcome of the Th1/Th2 balance is a critical determinant of the outcome in invasive aspergillosis. The innate immune system encounters the pathogen first. Dendritic cells (DC) appear to be the critical fulcrum at the intersection of the innate immune system, and which receptors are engaged, particularly which Toll-like receptors are triggered by ...

Role of CD20+T lymphocytes in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология
CD3+CD20+T lymphocytes are a population of T cells that, along with standard T cell markers, express the atypical membrane molecule CD20 (a traditional B cell marker).

ANALYSIS OF T HELPER SUBPOPULATIONS (Th1, Th2, Treg, Th17, ACTIVATED T-HELPERS) BY MEANS OF FLOW CYTOMETRY

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2014
. Over last years, huge efforts are made in order to improve analytic techniques for T lymphocyte subpopulations. Appropriate studies on T-helper cells are also subject to extensive research.

CYTOKINE CONTENTS IN Th1- AND Th17-TYPE LYMPHOCYTES IN CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2016
We studied cytokine profiles relevant to the Th1 and Th17 modes of immune response in 116 patients with mild, moderate and severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Interferon-γ secreted by recruited Th1 cells in peritoneal cavity inhibits the formation of malignant ascites

open access: yesCell Death Discovery, 2023
Type 1 T helper (Th1) cells generate an efficient antitumor immune response in multiple malignancies. The functions of Th1 cells in malignant ascites (MA) have not been elucidated.

MicroRNA-451a and Th1/Th2 ratio inform inflammation, septic organ injury, and mortality risk in sepsis patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
AimsMicroRNA-451a (miR-451a) regulates Th1/Th2 cell differentiation, inflammation, and septic organ injury in several experiments. Therefore, the present study aimed to explore the inter-correlation of miR-451a with the Th1/Th2 ratio, and their ...

Saikosaponin A Inhibits Breast Cancer by Regulating Th1/Th2 Balance

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2019
Saikosaponin A (SSa) is isolated from the dried root of Radix Bupleuri, an herb widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, exerting antitumor activities.

TIGIT signaling restores suppressor function of Th1 Tregs.

open access: yesJCI Insight, 2019
Th1 Tregs are characterized by the acquisition of proinflammatory cytokine secretion and reduced suppressor activity. Th1 Tregs are found at increased frequency in autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis (MS).

Further Checkpoints in Th1 Development [PDF]

open access: yesImmunity, 2002
Tight control of Th1 immunity is essential to prevent immunopathology. Central to control of the IFN-gamma gene is the transcription factor T-bet, whose induction is Stat-1 dependent. IL-12 is dominant in directing Th1 development, while synergizing with IL-18 for IFNgamma production from differentiated Th1 cells.
