Electro‐Steric Ion Confinement in Polyelectrolyte Networks for Robust Nonvolatile Artificial Synapse

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polyelectrolyte stoichiometry governs ion transport and retention in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. A PSS‐rich network creates electro‐steric ion confinement that suppresses ion back‐diffusion and stabilizes channel doping, enabling robust nonvolatile synaptic memory, linear weight updates, and low‐energy operation.

Transcription factor ONECUT3 regulates HDAC6/HIF-1α activity to promote the Warburg effect and tumor growth in colorectal cancer

open access: yesCell Death and Disease
The Warburg effect, also known as aerobic glycolysis, plays a crucial role in the onset and progression of colorectal cancer (CRC), although its mechanism remains unclear.

Hippocampal warburg effect mediates hydrogen sulfide-ameliorated diabetes-associated cognitive dysfunction: Involving promotion of hippocampal synaptic plasticity

open access: yesNeuroscience Research
Our previous studies have reported that hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has ability to improve diabetes-associated cognitive dysfunction (DACD), but the exact mechanisms remain unknown.

[The Warburg effect: from theory to therapeutic applications in cancer].

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceCancer cell metabolism described by Otto Warburg in the thirties became a cancer specific hallmark, also called "Warburg effect".

The Warburg effect and mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation: Friends or foes?

open access: yes, 2022
International audienceCancer cells display an altered energy metabolism, which was proposed to be the root of cancer. This early discovery was done by O. Warburg who conducted one of the first studies of tumor cell energy metabolism.

A Dual‐Functional Electrolyte Additive for Highly Reversible Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) as a dual‐function additive for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. TBAB disrupts the hydrogen‐bond network of water while TBA+ adsorbs on Zn to improve interfacial wettability and regulate Zn2+ flux, resulting in suppressed dendrite growth and parasitic reactions. This synergy extended the lifespan of Zn|

Curcumin decreases Warburg effect in cancer cells by down-regulating pyruvate kinase M2 via mTOR-HIF1α inhibition

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Warburg effect is an emerging hallmark of cancer cells with pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) as its key regulator. Curcumin is an extensively-studied anti-cancer compound, however, its role in affecting cancer metabolism remains poorly understood.

Polymer‐Redox Interactions Enhance Ferro/Ferricyanide Thermogalvanic Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polyelectrolyte could modify the hydration structure of the redox couple in solution and improve the output performance of thermogalvanic cells, providing new fundamental insight into how electrostatic interactions can be exploited to tailor thermoelectric properties.

Nuclear PKM2 regulates the Warburg effect [PDF]

open access: yesCell Cycle, 2013
Pyruvate kinase is a rate-limiting glycolytic enzyme. The PKM1 and PKM2 isoforms result from mutually exclusive alternative splicing of the PKM pre-mRNA. PKM2 rather than PKM1 regulates the Warburg effect and tumorigenesis by poorly understood mechanisms.

Warburg effect: cancer cells metabolism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
