Radiation triggers glycolytic reprogramming in alveolar epithelial type II cells, causing pathological lactate accumulation. This metabolic stress drives p300‐mediated H3K18 lactylation at the VIRMA promoter, activating transcription. Elevated VIRMA enriches m6A on GATA3 mRNA, which YTHDF1 stabilizes, ultimately driving epithelial–mesenchymal ...

AARS1 drives PI3K–AKT–mTOR‐dependent glycolysis in bladder cancer, promoting lactate accumulation, increased lactylation, H3K27la enrichment at the HK2 promoter, and HK2 transcription. HK2 reinforces glycolysis, sustaining a metabolic–epigenetic program associated with tumor progression, recurrence, and metastasis.

A RASSF1A-HIF1α loop drives Warburg effect in cancer and pulmonary hypertension
Pulmonary hypertension is characterized by a metabolic switch similar to the Warburg effect in cancer. Here Dabral et al. describe a RASSF1a-HIF-1α feedforward loop driving the Warburg effect both in a mouse model of hypoxia-induced pulmonary ...

Lai et al. find that m6A reader YTHDC1 is specifically overexpressed in triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) and orchestrates glucose and glutamine metabolism in an m6A‐dependent manner to confer robust adaptability to lethal metabolic stress. Leveraging YTHDC1 knockdown‐induced metabolic vulnerability, an ATF4 mRNA‐targeted nanotherapy is developed to

To model a nutrient‐restricted tumor microenvironment, breast cancer cells were adapted to low glucose and glutamine levels. In the adapted cells, BRD4‐driven enhancer activation increases pro‐invasive EDN1 expression, facilitated by ATF3/c‐JUN and reinforced by enhancer RNA.

The Warburg effect, defined by cancer cells’ preference for aerobic glycolysis over mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation for energy production, has been a central topic in cancer research since its identification in 1924. This process involves elevated glucose uptake and lactate production, even in the presence of oxygen, supporting rapid cell ...

Ultrathin lithiophilic interlayers engineered on a 3D textile electrode and separator cooperatively regulate interfacial Li nucleation and Li+ transport, leading to homogeneous Li plating and mitigated dendrite formation. The resulting dual‐interfacial design provides long‐term cycling stability, improved full‐cell durability, and a scalable pathway ...
