Thermodynamic Functions of Thiazole and iso-Thiazole

open access: yesCroatica Chemica Acta, 1967
Some thermodynamic functions (the enthalpy and free energy functi ons, entropy and heat capacity) of thiazole and iso-thiazole have been calculated (300-1000° K), using the harmonic-oscillator, rigid-rotor approximation. The reported assignments for the two molecules were us ed, as were the published values for the moments of inertia of thiazole ...

A Holistic Characterization of Soy Protein Isolates From Different Breeding Lines

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 1, March 2026.
A roadmap illustrating how variability among soybean genotypes translates into structural and compositional differences that govern functionality, off‐flavor development, and protein quality. ABSTRACT Soy protein remains the leading plant protein in the growing alternative protein market.

Functional polymer materials containing heavy group‐14 elements focusing on germanium and tin

open access: yesSmart Molecules, Volume 4, Issue 1, March 2026.
The synthesis, functions, and applications of the polymers containing heavy group 14 elements focusing on germanium and tin are outlined. Owing to their large atomic radii and weak binding energies, the polymers show unique properties: chromism, luminescence, carrier mobility, and reactivity to produce radials and higher coordinated states.

Molecular basis of antibiotic sensing by the TetR family regulator CecR – a structural perspective

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 6, Page 1801-1817, March 2026.
Escherichia coli CecR, a member of the TetR family regulators, senses selected antibiotics and activates the expression of a putative drug efflux pump. Although present in many pathogenic Enterobacteriales strains, CecR remains poorly characterized. We present the first CecR crystal structure, which reveals a unique tunnel‐like ligand‐binding cavity ...

ZmTH1 Is Vital for Healthy Plant Growth and Promotes Cold/Drought Tolerance by Regulating Thiamin Diphosphate‐Dependent Metabolisms in Maize

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 1234-1250, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Vitamin B1 (VB1) plays a crucial role in sustaining plant health and enabling adaptive responses to environmental stress. The complex maize genome implies a sophisticated VB1 synthesis pathway, with the mechanisms by which VB1 benefits plants remaining elusive.
