Prevalence of neural epidermal growth factor-like 1- and exostosin 1/exostosin 2-associated membranous nephropathy: a single-center retrospective study in Japan

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Membranous nephropathy (MN) is the leading cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults. We previously reported that the prevalence of phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R)- and thrombospondin type 1 domain containing 7A (THSD7A)-associated MN patients in Japan is ...

An update on clinical significance of use of THSD7A in diagnosing idiopathic membranous nephropathy: a systematic review and meta-analysis of THSD7A in IMN

open access: yesRenal Failure, 2018
Background: THSD7A is a new target antigen of idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN). Moreover, malignancies are also found in patients with THSD7A-positive membranous nephropathy.

Genetic risk factors in Finnish patients with Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To study the genetic risk factors of Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) in the Finnish population using hospital‐based and large biobank cohorts. Methods We genotyped a cohort of 107 Finnish patients with FECD for the primary associated genetic risk factor, the TCF4 (CTG)>50 expansion, and studied their clinical phenotype.

Recent Advances in Clinical Diagnosis and Pharmacotherapy Options of Membranous Nephropathy

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2022
Membranous nephropathy (MN) is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome among adults, which is the leading glomerular disease that recurs after kidney transplantation. Treatment for MN remained controversial and challenging, partly owing to absence of

TRIM32 controls timely cell cycle exit in muscular differentiation through downregulation of c‐Myc mRNA

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Trim32 regulates the transition from proliferation to differentiation in C2C12 cells after myogenic induction. We found that, at the onset of differentiation, Trim32 destabilizes c‐Myc mRNA, promotes cell cycle exit, and enables normal myotube formation.

Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy: Glomerular Pathological Pattern Caused by Extrarenal Immunity Activity

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) is a pathological pattern of glomerular damage caused by an autoimmune response. Immune complex deposition, thickness of glomerular basement membrane, and changes in the podocyte morphology are responsible for the ...

Characterization of THSD7A-antibodies not binding to glomerular THSD7A in a patient with diabetes mellitus but no membranous nephropathy

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Membranous nephropathy (MN) is an autoimmune disease caused by autoantibodies against the podocyte antigens phospholipase A2 receptor 1 (PLA2R1) and thrombospondin type 1 domain containing protein 7A (THSD7A) in 80% and 2–3% of patients, respectively ...

Membranous nephropathy: Systems biology-based novel mechanism and traditional Chinese medicine therapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2022
Membranous nephropathy (MN) is a renal-limited non-inflammatory autoimmune disease in the glomerulus, which is the second or third main cause of end-stage kidney diseases in patients with primary glomerulonephritis.
