Gene expression profiling in nucleus pulposus of human ruptured lumbar disc herniation

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2022
Purpose: To examine the differences in gene expression between ruptured and non-ruptured nucleus pulposus tissues of the intervertebral discs using gene chip technology. Methods: A total of 8 patients with nucleus pulposus from a lumbar disc herniation ...

Spontaneous Remission of Late Relapsing Membranous Nephropathy After Previous Immunosuppressant‐Induced Remission: Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Nephrology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This is the first detailed report of spontaneous remission of late relapsing membranous nephropathy (MN) after previous immunosuppressant‐induced remission. In March 2004, a 52‐year‐old Hispanic male presented with severe nephrotic syndrome with proteinuria of 13 g/24 h. The workup for infectious and autoimmune diseases was unrevealing.

Recent Advances in Clinical Diagnosis and Pharmacotherapy Options of Membranous Nephropathy

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2022
Membranous nephropathy (MN) is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome among adults, which is the leading glomerular disease that recurs after kidney transplantation. Treatment for MN remained controversial and challenging, partly owing to absence of

Temporal glomerular gene expression dynamics during disease progression in a mouse model of hypertension‐accelerated diabetic kidney disease

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, Volume 8, Issue 12, Page 2115-2127, December 2025.
The current study characterized temporal changes in glomerular gene expression, pathology, and biomarkers in a mouse model of hypertension‐accelerated diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Progressive albuminuria and glomerulosclerosis were paralleled by dynamic transcriptomic changes associated withmetabolic dysfunction, extracellular matrix remodeling, and ...

Membranous nephropathy: Systems biology-based novel mechanism and traditional Chinese medicine therapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2022
Membranous nephropathy (MN) is a renal-limited non-inflammatory autoimmune disease in the glomerulus, which is the second or third main cause of end-stage kidney diseases in patients with primary glomerulonephritis.

Current trends in single‐cell RNA sequencing applications in diabetes mellitus

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 15, Issue 11, Page 1738-1761, November 2025.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing is a powerful approach to decipher the cellular and molecular landscape at a single‐cell resolution. The rapid development of this technology has led to a wide range of applications, including the detection of cellular and molecular mechanisms and the identification and introduction of novel potential diagnostic and ...

Genetics of Response to ECT, TMS, Ketamine and Esketamine

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, Volume 198, Issue 7, Page 88-102, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Treatment‐resistant mood disorders are often managed with intensive interventions that include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine, and esketamine, but the role of genetics in clinical response to those interventions is yet to be clearly determined.

Cortical RORβ is required for layer 4 transcriptional identity and barrel integrity

open access: yeseLife, 2020
Retinoic acid-related orphan receptor beta (RORβ) is a transcription factor (TF) and marker of layer 4 (L4) neurons, which are distinctive both in transcriptional identity and the ability to form aggregates such as barrels in rodent somatosensory cortex.

Entwicklung eines THSD7A-abhängigen Mausmodells der membranösen Glomerulonephritis

open access: yes, 2020
