eMap 2.0: A Web‐Based Platform for Identifying electron Transfer Pathways in Proteins and Protein Families

open access: yesWIREs Computational Molecular Science, Volume 16, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
In this review, we present eMap 2.0, a web‐based platform for analyzing electron transfer pathways in proteins. We highlight representative applications of eMap, including its use in characterizing electron transfer within individual proteins and in revealing shared electron transfer pathways across protein families.

Cellular Stress, Inflammation and Barrier Damage in Gut Epithelial Cells Caused by Aspartame

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 884-901, March 2026.
This study shows that aspartame, at dietary‐relevant doses, induces cytotoxicity, cellular distress associated with endoplasmic reticulum stress, oxidative stress, DNA replication and repair mechanism disturbance culminating in epithelial barrier damage.

Mouse genome engineering uncovers 18 genes dispensable for male reproduction

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 833-846, March 2026.
Abstract Background Male infertility is an intricate multifactorial disease involving the interplay between genetic and environmental factors. Genetic anomalies account for more than 15% of all male infertility cases; however, diagnosing them exhibits enormous challenges due to variable symptomatic presentations and limited knowledge of gene functions.

Insights Into Gut Barrier Dysfunction and Metabolic Alterations in Mycophenolate‐Induced Enteropathy

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 138, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Mycophenolic acid (MPA) is a widely used immunosuppressant whose use is often limited by gastrointestinal toxicity. Gut bacterial hydrolysis of liver‐derived MPA glucuronides increases local exposure to MPA, potentially impairing epithelial barrier function and cellular metabolism.
