Mycobacterial Infection in TLR2 and TLR6 Knockout Mice [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobiology and Immunology, 2003
AbstractTo investigate the role of TLR in the development of murine tuberculosis in vivo, TLR2 and TLR6 knockout (KO) mice were infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis by placing them in the exposure chamber of an airborne infection apparatus. Both TLR2 and TLR6 KO mice survived until sacrifice at 12 weeks after infection.

Hypoxia inducible factor (HIF)-1 coordinates induction of Toll-like receptors TLR2 and TLR6 during hypoxia. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2007
During acute infection and inflammation, dramatic shifts in tissue metabolism are typical, thereby resulting in profound tissue hypoxia. Therefore, we pursued the hypothesis, that tissue hypoxia may influence innate immune responses by transcriptional ...

Association of Haematological Parameters With TLR Genes in Healthy and Distemper‐Infected Dogs Haematology and TLRs in Distemper [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci
The distemper‐infected dogs presented with an upregulated expression of the immune recognition receptors TLR3, TLR4 and TLR9. In the distemper‐infected dogs, there was a positive correlation between the TLR1 and PWD, TLR4 and WBC, Gran and Gran%, TLR5 and HCT, TLR6 and Gran%, TLR7 and MCV and TLR7 and PDW, as well as a negative correlation between the ...

A TLR6 polymorphism is associated with increased risk of Legionnaires’ disease [PDF]

open access: yesGenes & Immunity, 2013
Legionella pneumophila (Lp), the etiologic agent of Legionnaires' disease (LD), is an important cause of community-acquired and nosocomial pneumonia. However, the host immune and genetic determinants of human susceptibility to Lp are poorly understood. Here we show that both TLR6 and TLR1 cooperate with TLR2 to recognize Lp in transfected HEK293 cells.

Mushroom lectin overcomes hepatitis B virus tolerance via TLR6 signaling [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
AbstractCurrently, chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remains a serious public health problem in the world. Recombinant HBV vaccine, as a preventive strategy against HBV infection, generates high antibody level, but it is not effective to activate innate and cellular immunity for chronic HBV infection therapy.

Aberrant DNA methylation of the toll-like receptors 2 and 6 genes in patients with obstructive sleep apnea.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a syndrome leading to chronic intermittent hypoxia, and the up-regulation of toll-like receptors (TLR) 2 and 6 on peripheral blood cells has been reported.

Role of TLR1 and TLR6 in the host defense against disseminated candidiasis [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Immunology & Medical Microbiology, 2008
Toll-like receptor-1 (TLR1) and TLR6 are receptors of the TLR family that form heterodimers with TLR2. The role of TLR1 and TLR6 for the recognition of the fungal pathogen Candida albicans was investigated. TLR1 is not involved in the recognition of C.

Role of cytokine and Toll-like receptor genes in pathogenesis of inborn heart disease

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2022
Sporadic congenital heart disease (CHD) may result from immune disorders in the mother – embryo system and/or constitutional disorders in regulatory systems, including those associated with TLR receptors, cytokines and their receptors.

Cross-disease innate gene signature: Emerging diversity and abundance in RA comparing to SLE and SSc [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Overactivation of the innate immune system together with the impaired downstream pathway of type I interferon-responding genes is a hallmark of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and systemic sclerosis (SSc).

Identification of TLR2/TLR6 signalling lactic acid bacteria for supporting immune regulation [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
AbstractAlthough many lactic acid bacteria (LAB) influence the consumer’s immune status it is not completely understood how this is established. Bacteria-host interactions between bacterial cell-wall components and toll-like receptors (TLRs) have been suggested to play an essential role.
