RELATION BETWEEN REGULATORY T CELLS, CA-125 LEVEL AND TUMOR MASS IN OVARIAN CANCER PATIENTS
The relationship between various subpopulations of regulatory T-cells (Treg) and serum level of CA-125 and dynamics of Treg following surgery in ovarian cancer (OC) patients have been investigated.

Although the relationship between autoimmunity and microorganisms is complex, there is evidence that microorganisms can prevent the development of various autoimmune diseases. Lactobacilli are beneficial gut bacteria that play an important role in immune

Regulatory T cell proliferative potential as novel marker to investigate immune tolerance and clinical progression in Multiple Sclerosis [PDF]
In autoimmune disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) one of the determining alteration is the breakdown of self-antigen immune-tolerance. Peripheral immune tolerance is maintained, at least in part, by Regulatory T cells (Treg).

Metabolic changes in immune cells direct the phenotype and function of the host immune system. Smart nanomaterials must target metabolic pathways to direct immune cell fate. This study reports the fabrication and first application of germanane quantum dots (GeHQDs) to modulate inflammation in vitro and in vivo.

Acquisition of pneumococci specific effector and regulatory Cd4+ T cells localising within human upper respiratory-tract mucosal lymphoid tissue [PDF]
The upper respiratory tract mucosa is the location for commensal Streptococcus (S.) pneumoniae colonization and therefore represents a major site of contact between host and bacteria.

Bioengineering tumor‐stroma pancreatic cancer models with potential to emulate the native immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Cancer‐on‐a‐bead models exhibited higher relevance for screening immunotherapies and modulating the protumoral PDAC microenvironment. ABSTRACT Pancreatic cancer is notably resistant to treatment, primarily due to its dense

IL‐2 Free Expansion of T Cells with Immunofilaments
Ratio and density of stimulatory αCD3 and αCD28 mAb on immunofilaments (IF) influence T cell expansion, cytokine production, and effector phenotype. Moreover, IL‐2 supplementation is not necessary with optimal performing IFs, which leads to simpler culture conditions, and negative side effects of IL‐2 supplementation are reduced.

AGE-DEPENDENT CHANGES OF T-REGULATORY AND Th17 SUBSET LEVELS IN PERIPHERAL BLOOD FROM HEALTHY HUMANS
Age-dependent development of Th17 and Treg lymphocyte subsets in healthy humans is studied insufficiently. The present study aimed to investigate quantitative characteristics of Th17 and Treg subsets in peripheral blood of healthy subjects for ...
