Endogenously generated Dutch‐type Aβ non‐fibrillar aggregates dysregulate presynaptic neurotransmission in the absence of detectable inflammation

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND APPE693Q (“Dutch”) transgenic mice develop aging‐related learning deficits and accumulate endogenously generated non‐fibrillar aggregates (NFAs) of amyloid beta (Aβ) and amyloid precursor protein α‐carboxy terminal fragments. NFA‐Aβ correlates with synaptic loss and memory deficits more closely than does fibrillar Aβ.

Gut Microbiome–Sleep Crosstalk: Mechanistic Pathways, Dysbiosis Signatures, and Microbiome‐Based Interventions

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Gut dysbiosis and sleep disturbances interact bidirectionally through microbial metabolites, immune activation, and neuroendocrine signaling along the gut–brain axis. Microbiome‐based interventions, including probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, postbiotics, and fecal microbiota transplantation, may help improve sleep quality and reduce inflammatory ...

Integrative Transcriptomic Signature of tRNA‐Derived Fragment Targets and Lactylation‐Related Genes for Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Conventional diagnostic strategies for prostate cancer (PCa) are hindered by suboptimal specificity, frequently resulting in overdiagnosis and unnecessary invasive biopsies. We developed an integrative diagnostic framework based on transcriptomic signatures from tRNA‐derived fragments (tRFs), target genes, and lactylation‐related ...

Case Report: Recurrent Guillain–Barré Syndrome in a 56‐Year‐Old Male

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Recurrent Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) is an uncommon variant of immune‐mediated polyradiculoneuropathy. We report a 56‐year‐old male who had two distinct episodes of acute inflammatory demyelinating neuropathy within the span of 3 months. The first episode presented with an episode of ascending paralysis and areflexia, with nerve conduction ...

Mitochondrial Genome of the Indo‐Pacific Mesophotic Coral Leptoseris columna (Scleractinia: Agariciidae) Assembled Using PacBio Long‐Read Sequencing

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
The complete mitochondrial genome of Leptoseris columna was assembled using PacBio long read sequencing. ABSTRACT Leptoseris columna, a mesophotic coral species belonging to the family Agariciidae, is distributed throughout the Indo‐Pacific region.

Evolutionary Patterns of the Genes Involved in the Integrity and Segregation of Chromosomes in Sawflies (Hymenoptera: Symphyta)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study identifies and characterizes the genes encoding cohesin and condensin complexes across Symphytan superfamilies, revealing their structural and functional roles with conserved motifs in maintaining genome stability. Phylogenetic analyses indicate that SMC genes originated from ancient duplication events, with notable gene loss (e.g., CAPG2 ...

Chloroplast Genome Insights of Gleditsia japonica var. velutina and Evolutionary Implications for Variation and Phylogeny in Gleditsia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study presents the first comprehensive chloroplast genome analysis of the critically endangered G. japonica var. velutina, providing essential insights into its evolutionary divergence within the genus Gleditsia and offering a critical genomic foundation for its conservation.
