Covalent Attachment of a Platinum(II) Complex inside DNA Duplexes
Oxidative addition is used for the site‐specific incorporation of an organometallic PtII complex as an artificial nucleobase into a DNA duplex. The platination stabilizes the duplex and confers it with phosphorescence. An organometallic phosphorescent PtII complex is introduced into DNA duplexes via oxidative addition to a tailor‐made artificial ...

New Quinoline-Based Heterocycles as Anticancer Agents Targeting Bcl-2
The Bcl-2 protein has been studied as an anticancer drug target in recent years, due to its gatekeeper role in resisting programmed cancer cell death (apoptosis), and the design of BH3 domain mimetics has led to the clinical approval of Venetoclax (ABT ...

1,2,4-Triazoles. IV. Tautomerism of 3,5-disubstituted 1,2,4-triazoles.
Tautomerism of ten 3, 5-disubstituted 1, 2, 4-triazoles, which can exist in three tautomeric forms, has been studied. The nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and ultraviolet (UV) spectra of these 1, 2, 4-triazoles were compared with those of the N-methyl derivatives, which are the model compounds of the three kinds of tautomeric forms.

Why add another catalyst when the product itself holds the power to catalyze its own formation? Autocatalysis in synthetic chemistry enhances reaction efficiency and uncovers novel catalytic behavior across both closed‐shell and open‐shell systems, expanding reactivity and enabling innovative design strategies.

9-Ethyl-6-methyl-7H-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-b][1,2,4]triazepin-8(9H)-one
In the title compound, C8H11N5O, the triazepine ring displays a boat conformation. Its mean plane is inclined to the triazole ring by 22.10 (9)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked by C—H...O hydrogen bonds to form chains parallel to the b-axis ...

A Mononuclear Scenario for the Copper‐Catalyzed Monooxygenation of Phenolic Substrates
ABSTRACT Whereas a dinuclear pathway applies to the monooxygenation of phenols by the type 3 copper enzyme tyrosinase, a mononuclear pathway has been identified for the same reaction in corresponding small‐molecule systems. DFT calculations of five copper model complexes reveal that the latter mechanism is energetically feasible, identifying all ...

Synthetic Strategies for Activity‐Based Probes to Decode Ubiquitin‐Like Modifiers
ABSTRACT Ubiquitin‐like proteins (Ubls) such as SUMO, NEDD8, ISG15, URM1, UFM1, FAT10, ATG8/ATG12, and FUBI are essential regulators of cellular homeostasis, controlling processes from protein stability and trafficking to immune signaling and autophagy.
