Favorable Effects of Voriconazole Trough Concentrations Exceeding 1 μg/mL on Treatment Success and All-Cause Mortality: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Fungi, 2021
This systematic review and meta-analysis examined the optimal trough concentration of voriconazole for adult patients with invasive fungal infections. We used stepwise cutoffs of 0.5–2.0 μg/mL for efficacy and 3.0–6.0 μg/mL for safety.

Polymorphisms of Drug-Metabolizing Enzymes and Transporters Contribute to the Individual Variations of Erlotinib Steady State Trough Concentration, Treatment Outcomes, and Adverse Reactions in Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor–Mutated Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
BackgroundErlotinib is presently the first line treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) active mutation.

A Regression Model to Predict Linezolid Induced Thrombocytopenia in Neonatal Sepsis Patients: A Ten-Year Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2022
Background: Linezolid-induced thrombocytopenia (LIT) is the main factor limiting the clinical application of linezolid (LZD). The incidence and risk factors of LIT in neonatal patients were possibly different from other populations based on ...

He+ dominance in the plasmasphere during geomagnetically disturbed periods: 1. Observational results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Observations made by the DMSP 1710 satellite during the recovery phase from geomagnetic disturbances in June 1991 show regions of He+ dominance around 830 km altitude at 09:00 MLT.

Posaconazole trough concentrations are not influenced by inflammation: A prospective study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antimicrobial Agents, 2019
During inflammation, several cytochrome P450 enzymes are downregulated. Recently it was shown that voriconazole metabolism is reduced during inflammation. Posaconazole, another triazole with broad-spectrum antifungal activity, is metabolised only to a limited extent by cytochrome P450 enzymes and to a wider extent by phase 2 enzyme systems.

Feasibility of Extrapolating Randomly Taken Plasma Samples to Trough Levels for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Purposes of Small Molecule Kinase Inhibitors

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2021
Small molecule kinase inhibitors (SMKIs) are widely used in oncology. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) for SMKIs could reduce underexposure or overexposure.

Intracellular and Plasma Trough Concentration and Pharmacogenetics of Telaprevir

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2015
PURPOSE: Triple therapy for HCV-1 infection consists in boceprevir or telaprevir, ribavirin and PEG-interferon. Telaprevir is a P-glycoprotein substrate and it is metabolized by CYP3A4/5. No data have been published on intracellular penetration of telaprevir.
