Chitosan‐Carbon Dot Composite Materials Form a Leaf Surface Barrier to Mitigate the Enrichment and Invasion of Nanoplastics: From Leaf Interface to Systemic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

Reprogramming Antitumor Immunity: NK Cell Strategies to Navigate the Immunosuppressive Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumor immune escape is a major barrier to durable cancer immunotherapy, as advanced malignancies create a tumor microenvironment (TME) that preferentially exhausts and disables T cell responses. While most approved cell therapies are T cell‐based, this limitation motivates the exploration of an alternative effector cell platform.

New insight into arginine and tryptophan metabolism in macrophage activation during tuberculosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Arginine and tryptophan are pivotal in orchestrating cytokine-driven macrophage polarization and immune activation. Specifically, interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) stimulates inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression), leading to the conversion of ...

Developmental and Phenotypic Outcomes in Mild Phenylalanine Hydroxylase Deficiency

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Benign hyperphenylalaninemia (bHPA) is defined as elevated phenylalanine (Phe) levels remaining ≤ 360 μmol/L (6 mg/dL) and not requiring medical intervention. Individuals with bHPA may demonstrate a rise in their Phe levels > 360 μmol/L, effectively developing a mild PKU phenotype requiring therapy to prevent neurocognitive complications. This

Gut Microbiota-Derived Tryptophan Metabolites Alleviate Allergic Asthma Inflammation in Ovalbumin-Induced Mice

open access: yesFoods
Asthma is a prevalent respiratory disease. The present study is designed to determine whether gut microbiota-derived tryptophan metabolites alleviate allergic asthma inflammation in ovalbumin (OVA)-induced mice and explore the effect and potential ...

Localize and identify the gravity sensing mechanism of plants [PDF]

open access: yes
The machinery by which a plant transduces the gravity stimulus into a growth response is localized and identified at the cellular level. The fact that a plant grows unequally on the lower side of a horizontally placed stem implies that there must be an ...
