This paper aims to study the application of hyperspectral technology in the classification of deep-sea manganese nodules. Considering the spectral spatial variation of hyperspectral images, the difficulty of label acquisition, and the inability to ...

HDAC3 represses the expression of NKG2D ligands ULBPs in epithelial tumour cells: potential implications for the immunosurveillance of cancer [PDF]
The expression of the NKG2D ligands on cancer cells leads to their recognition and elimination by host immune responses mediated by natural killer and T cells. UL16-binding proteins (ULBPs) are NKG2D ligands, which are scarcely expressed in epithelial tumours, favouring their evasion from the immune system.

Expression of the stress-induced ligands MICA, MICB and ULBP 1–6 are up-regulated as a cellular response to DNA damage, excessive proliferation or viral infection; thereby, they enable recognition and annihilation by immune cells that express the ...

El CCU es la segunda causa de muerte en mujeres de nuestro país. Dentro de los primeros mecanismos de defensa del hospedero se encuentra la respuesta inmune de las células NK y su función lítica a expensas de su receptor activador NKG2D, el cual posee ...

Transfer of the human
SummaryAfter immune interactions, membrane fragments can be transferred between cells. This fast transfer of molecules is transient and shows selectivity for certain proteins; however, the constraints underlying acquisition of a protein are unknown. To characterize the mechanism and functional consequences of this process in natural killer (NK) cells ...

Human NKG2D-ligands: cell biology strategies to ensure immune recognition
Immune recognition mediated by the activating receptor NKG2D plays an important role for the elimination of stressed cells, including tumours and virus-infected cells.

NK group 2, member D (NKG2D) is one of the most critical activating receptors expressed by natural killer (NK) cells. There is growing evidence that acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells may evade NK cell-mediated cell lysis by expressing low or no ligands ...

The functional plasticity and anti-tumor potential of human γδ T cells have been widely studied. However, the epigenetic regulation of γδ T-cell/tumor cell interactions has been poorly investigated.

For dependent population, falls accident are a serious health issue, particularly in a situation of pandemic saturation of health structures. It is, therefore, highly desirable to quarantine patients at home, in order to avoid the spread of contagious diseases.

Recognition of adult and pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia blasts by natural killer cells
In this study, we aimed to investigate the pathways of recognition of acute lymphoblastic leukemia blasts by natural killer cells and to verify whether differences in natural killer cell activating receptor ligand expression among groups defined by age ...
