A Multi‐Targeting Chimeric Antigen Receptor‐T Cell Platform to Overcome Antigen Heterogeneity in the Treatment of Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐transmembrane Bicephali CAR‐T platform simultaneously targets CD276 and NKG2D ligands to address antigen heterogeneity in non‐small cell lung cancer. By improving immune synapse formation, mitochondrial fitness, antioxidant capacity, and stem‐like persistence, this design enhances durable tumor control and provides a versatile strategy to ...

SAHA modulates MICA and ULBPs expression on JEG-3 cells and enhances their susceptibility to NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология
Pregnancy is characterized by the emergence of a unique immunotolerant microenvironment that supports fetal development. Trophoblast cells and natural killer (NK) cells cooperate to establish the microenvironment essential for successful embryo ...

Soluble ligands for the NKG2D receptor are released during endometriosis and correlate with disease severity.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
BackgroundEndometriosis is a benign gynaecological disease. Abundant bulk of evidence suggests that patients with endometriosis have an immunity dysfunction that enables ectopic endometrial cells to implant and proliferate.

The Epstein-Barr Virus Oncogene EBNA1 Suppresses Natural Killer Cell Responses and Apoptosis Early after Infection of Peripheral B Cells

open access: yesmBio, 2021
The innate immune system serves as frontline defense against pathogens, such as bacteria and viruses. Natural killer (NK) cells are a part of innate immunity and can both secrete cytokines and directly target cells for lysis.

Treatment‐Free Remission in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia: Toward Precision and Personalized Approaches to Functional Cure

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Immune surveillance of residual leukemic stem cells after tyrosine kinase inhibitor discontinuation involves coordinated NK‐cell, CTL, Treg, pDC, and neutrophil activity that predicts treatment‐free remission, while exhausted CTLs and Treg expansion predict relapse in chronic myeloid leukemia.

Understanding Exosomes in Hair Regeneration

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Alopecia is a prevalent condition correlated with significant psychosocial challenges, while contemporary treatments exhibit variable efficacy, require extended use, and may cause adverse effects. This review aimed to comprehensively assess exosome‐mediated interventions as a novel cell‐free regenerative approach for hair ...

MICA Allelic Variation Modulates Secretion and Protein Flexibility, Impacting on NKG2D‐Mediated Immune Responses and Antibody Detection

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 10, October 2026.
Differential secretion mechanisms and predicted structural flexibility are described as additional effects of MICA polymorphism in the immune response. Structural features might explain impaired antibody recognition of certain MICA alleles, supporting that MICA genotyping should be considered in biomarker studies and NKG2D‐based therapeutic development.

Harnessing Natural Killer Cells: From Neuroimmunology to Novel Therapies for Central Nervous System Diseases

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
This review delineates the multifaceted roles of natural killer (NK) cells in the central nervous system, spanning direct cytolysis, immunoregulation, and crosstalk with the brain microenvironment. We evaluate the translational potential and challenges of NK cell immunotherapies for a spectrum of neurological conditions.

Highly active selenium nanotherapeutics combined with metformin to achieve synergistic sensitizing effect on NK cells for osteosarcoma therapy

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2022
NK cells-based cancer therapy combined with chemotherapeutic drugs for the treatment of tumors can enhance the immunosensitivity of NK cells, increase the expression of NK cell receptors, and eventually boost the killing effect of NK cells on cancer ...
