Triplebody Mediates Increased Anti-Leukemic Reactivity of IL-2 Activated Donor Natural Killer (NK) Cells and Impairs Viability of Their CD33-Expressing NK Subset

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2017
Natural killer cells (NK) are essential for the elimination of resistant acute myeloid and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (AML and ALL) cells. NK cell-based immunotherapies have already successfully entered for clinical trials, but limitations due to ...

Immune-related pan-cancer gene expression signatures of patient survival revealed by NanoString-based analyses.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
The immune system plays a central role in the onset and progression of cancer. A better understanding of transcriptional changes in immune cell-related genes associated with cancer progression, and their significance in disease prognosis, is therefore ...

MICA Allelic Variation Modulates Secretion and Protein Flexibility, Impacting on NKG2D‐Mediated Immune Responses and Antibody Detection

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 10, October 2026.
Differential secretion mechanisms and predicted structural flexibility are described as additional effects of MICA polymorphism in the immune response. Structural features might explain impaired antibody recognition of certain MICA alleles, supporting that MICA genotyping should be considered in biomarker studies and NKG2D‐based therapeutic development.

The NKG2D ligand ULBP2 is specifically regulated through an invariant chain-dependent endosomal pathway

open access: yes, 2014
Soluble ULBP2 is a marker for poor prognosis in several types of cancer. In this study we demonstrate that both soluble and cell surface-bound ULBP2 is transported via a so far unrecognized endosomal pathway.

Novel immune-related prognostic model and nomogram for breast cancer based on ssGSEA

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2023
This study aimed to construct an immune-related prognostic model and a nomogram to predict the 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival (OS) of breast cancer patients.

From Regenerative to Degenerative Niche: Multicellular Crosstalk and Population Dynamics in Skeletal Muscle Aging

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 10, October 2026.
Aging transforms the skeletal muscle microenvironment from a balanced, regenerative niche into a maladaptive, degenerative state. This review highlights how disrupted multicellular crosstalk drives chronic inflammation, fibrosis, and neuromuscular dysfunction, ultimately compromising tissue repair and fueling sarcopenia.

8-Gene signature related to CD8+ T cell infiltration by integrating single-cell and bulk RNA-sequencing in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2022
Background: CD8+ T cells, a critical component of the tumor immune microenvironment, have become a key target of cancer immunotherapy. Considering the deficiency of robust biomarkers for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), this study aimed at ...

SARS-CoV-2 Infection-Induced Promoter Hypomethylation as an Epigenetic Modulator of Heat Shock Protein A1L (HSPA1L) Gene

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
Numerous researches have focused on the genetic variations affecting SARS-CoV-2 infection, whereas the epigenetic effects are inadequately described. In this report, for the first time, we have identified potential candidate genes that might be regulated

Staging concept for aging management: Definition, mechanism, and coping strategies

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
We divided the overall aging stage into “pre‐aging”, “aging compensation”, and “aging disability”. For each stage, we delineate the clinical presentations, biological phenomena, theoretical underpinnings, and key management priorities. Abstract Aging, as a gradual and largely irreversible biological process, characterized by declining organismal ...
