Mixed carnosine and anserine significantly reduce serum uric acid, protect the kidneys, and modulate gut microbiota, demonstrating potent therapeutic potential against hyperuricemia. ABSTRACT The anti‐hyperuricemic, nephroprotective, and gut microbiota modulation effects of mixed carnosine and anserine (MAC) with the fixed ratio of 10:1 were evaluated ...

UPLC‐MS/MS analysis of hawthorn flavonoids combined with network pharmacology, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics studies predicted vitexin as a key compound acting on the PPARγ/ABCG2 pathway. In a hyperuricemic mouse model, vitexin effectively lowered serum uric acid by enhancing renal and intestinal urate excretion, inhibiting urate production,

Immunoreactivity of urate transporters, GLUT9 and URAT1, is located in epithelial cells of the choroid plexus of human brains [PDF]
香川大学Kagawa University博士(医学)Abstract It has been suggested that urate plays a protective role in neurons, while hyperuricemia is correlated with atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease.

Uric Acid in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease
MASLD is the most prevalent chronic liver disease worldwide, yet effective pharmacological treatments remain limited. Hyperuricemia is now recognized as a key driver of hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis, with elevated serum uric acid levels independently predicting hepatocellular carcinoma and liver‐related mortality.

PFOS increases cellular uric acid content and the abundance of URAT1 and GLUT9 in HK-2 cells
Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a persistent environmental pollutant associated with hyperuricemia. How PFOS affects urate-related responses in human proximal-tubule cells remains incompletely understood.

Renal Reabsorptive Transport of Uric Acid Precursor Xanthine by URAT1 and GLUT9
Xanthine and hypoxanthine are intermediate metabolites of uric acid and a source of reactive oxidative species (ROS) by xanthine oxidoreductase (XOR), suggesting that facilitating their elimination is beneficial. Since they are reabsorbed in renal proximal tubules, we investigated their reabsorption mechanism by focusing on the renal uric acid ...

Benzofuran‐Based Uricosuric Agents: History, Roles, and Challenges
Benzofuran‐based uricosuric agents represent a privileged medicinal chemistry scaffold for gout therapy. Structural optimization of benzbromarone‐related derivatives has improved hURAT1 inhibitory potency, metabolic stability, and urate‐lowering efficacy, while reducing hepatotoxic liability.

Among 5307 southern Chinese adults, higher TyG index and mINFLA score were associated with increased HUA risk and serum UA levels (p trend < 0.001). A significant interaction was observed between these two indicators. Notably, the TyG index mediated 15.4% of the mINFLA‐HUA association and 14.5% of the mINFLA‐UA association.
