Both YAP1-MAML2 and constitutively active YAP1 drive the formation of tumors that resemble NF2 mutant meningiomas in mice

open access: yesGenes & Development, 2022
YAP1 is a transcriptional coactivator regulated by the Hippo signaling pathway, including NF2. Meningiomas are the most common primary brain tumors; a large percentage exhibit heterozygous loss of chromosome 22 (harboring the NF2 gene) and functional inactivation of the remaining NF2 copy, implicating oncogenic YAP activity in these tumors.

The Regulation and Function of YAP1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) is a transcriptional regulator that was first described as part of the Hippo signalling cascade. In the last five years, several others regulators have been identified, placing YAP1 at the centre of a much more complex ...

Amot regulates neuronal dendritic tree through Yap1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Amot-Yap1 complex plays a major role in the regulation of cell contact inhibition, cellular polarity and growth. However, the function of Angiomotin (Amot) and Hippo pathway transcription co-activator Yap1 in the central nervous system remains ...

DataSheet1_Hydrostatic Pressure Controls Angiogenesis Through Endothelial YAP1 During Lung Regeneration.PDF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Pulmonary artery (PA) pressure increases during lung growth after unilateral pneumonectomy (PNX). Mechanosensitive transcriptional co-activator, yes-associated protein (YAP1), in endothelial cells (ECs) is necessary for angiogenesis during post-PNX lung ...

YAP1 oncogene and its eight isoforms [PDF]

open access: yesOncogene, 2012
Fernandez-L et al.1 and Liu et al.2 reported functional analyses of the human YAP1 gene using overexpression of its complementary DNA (cDNA) in various cell lines. Interestingly, in these reports one of the eight existing isoforms of YAP1 cDNA was used, namely YAP1 encoding 504 amino acid long protein.

Mechanism underlying Amot- and Yap1-mediated dendritogenesis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
(A, B) Reduction of phosphorylation of S6 ribosomal protein in cerebellar homogenates from Amot fl/fl;Syn-Cre (A) and Yap1 fl/fl;Syn-Cre (B) P30 mice, analyzed by western blot (see also S11A and S11B Fig for additional blots and quantification).

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
