Chemokine-induced secretion of gelatinase B in primary human monocytes [PDF]
Chemokines help control normal leukocyte trafficking as well as their infiltration into tissues during acute and chronic inflammation. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) help support the extravasation and infiltration of leukocytes through limited ...

Stochastic nanoscale physical cues induce glioblastoma (GBM)‐associated transcriptional traits in naïve astrocytes leading to spontaneous formation of spheroids. Cells within spheroids express activated‐MMP2 and a differential gene expression pattern involving P53 and NOTCH3, providing evidence for a role for changes in brain topography, as observed in

Neutrophil Gelatinase-associated Lipocalin, Cystatin C and Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 as Possible Biomarkers in Early Detection of Acute Kidney Injury after Cardiac Surgery [PDF]
Introduction: Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) often occurs after open heart surgery. Today, serum creatinine is used as an indicator for identifying AKI; however, creatinine is unreliable due to delay in its elevation.

The role of EGFR double minutes in modulating the response of malignant gliomas to radiotherapy. [PDF]
EGFR amplification in cells having double minute chromosomes (DM) is commonly found in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM); however, how much it contributes to the current failure to treat GBM successfully is unknown.

ADAMTS‐7 Increase Contributes to Worsened Neurological Outcome in Mice on High Fat Diet
High fat diet (HFD) increases a disintegrin and metalloproteinase‐7 (ADAMTS‐7) in the brain of mice with and without ischemia. Increased ADAMTS‐7 reduces tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase‐1 (TIMP‐1) to increase matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP‐9) activity.

Detection and Estimation of Active Proteinases in Biological Samples: An Optimized Protocol
Background: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are enzymes that degrade extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins and activate cytokines and chemokines, playing a critical role in tissue remodeling.

Zymographic techniques for the analysis of matrix metalloproteinases and their inhibitors
The balance between matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their inhibitors, the tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs), is largely responsible for the remodeling of tissues.
