Recent developments in the chemistry and enzyme inhibitory activity of fused thiazoles and thiadiazoles

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Chemistry, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 872-882, December 2025.
Abstract The combination of cyclization reactions of thiadiazoles and benzothiazoles with Pd‐catalyzed cross‐coupling reactions provided a convenient synthesis of annulated, fluorinated and non‐fluorinated heterocycles, such as 1,3,4‐thiadiazolo[3,2‐a]pyrimidin‐5‐ones, benzothiazolo[3,2‐a]pyridimidin‐4‐ones, benzothiazolo[2,3‐b]quinazolin‐12‐ones and ...

Synthesis, Anticancer Evaluation, and Molecular Docking of Novel Thiazolobenzimidazole–Thiazole Hybrids as Potent Colon Cancer Inhibitors

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2025.
Novel benzimidazothiazole–thiazole hybrids are synthesized and evaluated for anticancer activity against HCT‐116 colon cancer cells. Compound 16b shows superior cytotoxicity over doxorubicin. Molecular docking confirms strong binding to 6MTU protein, and ADMET profiling indicates favorable pharmacokinetics and low toxicity.

Interfering Transposable Elements: ISXoo15 Transposase as a First‐in‐Class Antibacterial Target Against Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 26, Issue 11, November 2025.
The study identifies the previously unknown transposase ISXoo15 as an antiphytobacterial target. By constructing mutant strains, this enzyme's essential role in regulating bacterial pathogenicity and virulence is revealed. ABSTRACT Current challenges in controlling phytopathogenic bacteria lie in widespread chemical resistance, biosafety concerns, and ...

Anti‐Corrosive Covalent Iodo‐Thiadiazole Catalyst Enables Aqueous Zn─S Batteries with High Coulombic Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 43, October 29, 2025.
In aqueous Zn–S batteries, a covalently bonded iodo–thiadiazole redox mediator suppresses parasitic I3−‐mediated Zn corrosion and enhances Zn–S redox kinetics, enabling pouch cell with a high capacity of 1398 mAh g−1 after 120 cycles. This innovative catalyst design is a leap toward practical and grid‐scale aqueous Zn–S batteries. Abstract Aqueous zinc‐

A Drug Delivery to Improve Prognosis of Traumatic Brain Injury Mice Through Mouse‐Derived Nerve Growth Factor Coated by a Nanoparticle

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 10, October 2025.
This study is the first to demonstrate that mNGF, when nanocrystallized, crosses the BBB more effectively in TBI mice, subsequently aiding the repair and functional recovery of the nervous system post‐injury. ABSTRACT Objective The large molecular weight and limited permeability of mouse‐derived nerve growth factor (mNGF) across the blood–brain barrier

Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity evaluation of new imidazo [2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazole derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazoles (4a-g) were synthesized from 3,4,5-trimethoxy benzoic acid and thiosemicarbazide. Reaction of 4 with Vilsmeier-Haack reagent yielded imidazo [2,1-b][1,3,4] thiadiazole–5-carbaldehyde derivatives (5a-g).

Fibrous Pb(II)‐Based Coordination Polymer Operable as a Photocatalyst and Electrocatalyst for High‐Rate, Selective CO2‐to‐Formate Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 28, July 10, 2025.
A coordination polymer [Pb(tadt)]n prepared by a microwave‐assisted solvothermal method selectively reduces CO2 into formate under visible light with a high apparent quantum yield of ≈25% at 400 nm. It can function as a pre‐catalyst, along with conductive Ketjen Black, to form an active PbCO3/Pb3(CO3)2(OH)2 mixture that exhibits a high Faradaic ...
