Starvation stress significantly affected the growth and development of Hippodamia variegata. Combined transcriptome and metabolome analysis and RNA interference verification revealed that HvarAKR1B1 may be involved in the response of Hippodamia variegata to starvation stress.

27-Hydroxycholesterol induces the transition of MCF7 cells into a mesenchymal phenotype
A decrease in the expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin, paralleling the loss of adherens junction complex, was observed in MCF7 cells exposed for longer than 48 h to 2 µM 27-hydroxycholesterol (27OHC), indicating an epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).

The role of autophagy in survival response induced by 27-hydroxycholesterol in human promonocytic cells [PDF]
Autophagy has been shown to be stimulated in advanced atherosclerotic plaques by metabolic stress, inflammation and oxidized lipids. The lack of published studies addressing the potential stimulation of pro-survival autophagy by oxysterols, a family of ...

Novel approaches for drug development against chronic primary pain: A systematic review
Abstract Chronic primary pain (CPP) persisting for more than 3 months, associated with significant emotional distress without any known underlying cause, is an unmet medical need. Traditional or adjuvant analgesics do not provide satisfactory pain relief for a great proportion of these patients.

There is a continuous flux of the oxysterol 27-hydroxycholesterol (27-OHC) from the circulation across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) into the brain. The major metabolite of 27-OHC in the brain is 7α-hydroxy-3-oxo-4-cholestenoic acid (7-HOCA).

Decoding Undesirable Inflammatory Responses of Nucleic Acid‐Delivering Lipid Nanoparticles
Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) enable efficient nucleic acid delivery, but their immunogenicity is a double‐edged sword. This review explores LNP‐driven innate and adaptive immunity, covering lipid components, endosomal escape, and nucleic acid sensing.

The major relation existing between cell growth and cholesterol homeostasis prompted us to investigate the effect of 26-aminocholesterol (26-NH2), 27-hydroxycholesterol (27-OH), and 25-hydroxycholesterol (25-OH) on these cellular events.

Metabolic Fingerprinting of Urine Reveals Metabolite Changes in Women With Breast Cancer
This study uses metabolomics to compare urine, plasma and serum metabolite profiles across breast cancer, benign breast disease, symptomatic and healthy controls. Significant metabolic differences—especially in amino acids—were found between BC and other groups, with moderate correlations across biofluids, suggesting potential for non‐invasive BC ...

Impact of 27-hydroxylase (CYP27A1) and 27-hydroxycholesterol in breast cancer [PDF]
The impact of systemic 27-hydroxycholesterol (27HC) and intratumoral CYP27A1 expression on pathobiology and clinical response to statins in breast cancer needs clarification. 27HC is an oxysterol produced from cholesterol by the monooxygenase CYP27A1, which regulates intracellular cholesterol homeostasis.
