Cistanche tubulosa phenylethanoid glycosides suppressed adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and improved obesity and insulin resistance in high-fat diet induced obese mice

open access: yesBMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies, 2022
Background Cistanche tubulosa is an editable and medicinal traditional Chinese herb and phenylethanoid glycosides are its major components, which have shown various beneficial effects such as anti-tumor, anti-oxidant and neuroprotective activities ...

Adipocyte-Related Genes and Transcription Factors were affected by Ganoderma lucidum during 3T3-L1 Differentiation

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacopuncture, 2009
In this study, the effects of Ganoderma lucidum (GL) on fat metabolism were performed in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. The effects of GL on 3T3-L1 preadipocytes differentiation were also examined. Our results showed that GL decreased the TG content by ORO staining.

Stimulation of glucose utilization in 3T3 adipocytes and rat diaphragm in vitro by the sulphonylureas, glimepiride and glibenclamide, is correlated with modulations of the cAMP regulatory cascade [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The long-term hypoglycemic activity of sulphonylurea drugs has been attributed, in part at least, to the stimulation of glucose utilization in extra-pancreatic tissues. The novel sulphonylurea, glimepiride, gives rise to a longer lasting reduction in the

Effects of leukemia inhibitory factor on 3T3-L1 adipocytes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Endocrinology, 2005
Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a member of the gp130 cytokine family and signals through the receptor complex of gp130 and the LIF receptor (LIFR) to activate the JAK/STAT signaling cascade. Since LIF activates STATs 1 and 3 in adipocytes, we examined the effects of LIF on 3T3-L1 adipocytes.

Effects of Chrysoeriol on Adipogenesis and Lipolysis in 3T3-L1 Adipocytes

open access: yesFoods, 2022
We examined the effect of chrysoeriol on adipogenesis and lipolysis and elucidated the underlying molecular mechanisms. Chrysoeriol inhibited fat deposition in adipocytes. Treatment with chrysoeriol suppressed the expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ, fatty acid synthase, fatty acid-binding protein, CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteins

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Cissus quadrangularis extract (CQR-300) inhibits lipid accumulation by downregulating adipogenesis and lipogenesis in 3T3-L1 cells

open access: yesToxicology Reports, 2018
The objective of this study was to evaluate the anti-obesity activity and the action mechanism of Cissus quadrangularis extracts (CQR-300) in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. Cissus quadrangularis was extracted with hot water, resulting in CQR-300.

DNA Methylation Suppresses Leptin Gene in 3T3-L1 Adipocytes. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Leptin is a key regulator of energy intake and expenditure. This peptide hormone is expressed in mouse white adipose tissue, but hardly expressed in 3T3-L1 adipocytes.

Sclerostin Enhances Adipocyte Differentiation in 3T3‐L1 Cells [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cellular Biochemistry, 2016
ABSTRACTSclerostin, a secreted protein encoded by the Sost gene, is produced by osteocytes and is inhibited by osteoblast differentiation and bone formation. Recently, a functional association between bone and fat tissue has been suggested, and a correlation between circulating sclerostin levels and lipid metabolism has been reported in humans. However,

Microengineered Gradient Hydrogels for Mechanobiology

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Gradient hydrogels are used to mimic the mechanical heterogeneity in native tissues, offering powerful in vitro platforms to study cell‐material interactions in diverse pathophysiological contexts. Here, we present a comprehensive review of the design and experimental considerations for stiffness gradient hydrogels, discussing exemplary achievements ...
