Acacetin from Traditionally Used Saussurea involucrata Kar. et Kir. Suppressed Adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 Adipocytes and Attenuated Lipid Accumulation in Obese Mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2017
Acacetin, a flavone that can be isolated from the Saussurea involucrata plant, has anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties that ameliorate airway hyperresponsiveness in asthmatic mice.

Evidence of mature adipocyte proliferation regulated by proliferin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Despite much research, whether mature adipocytes proliferate remains controversial. Here, we examined 5-bromo-2′-deoxyuridine (BrdU)-labelling of mature adipocytes.

Mouse 3T3-L1 cells acquire resistance against oxidative stress as the adipocytes differentiate via the transcription factor FoxO [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Repression of excessive increase and enlargement of adipocytes that is closely associated with obesity is effective in the prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome.

Cars2‐Mediated Cysteine Catabolism Drives Brown Fat Development and Thermogenesis Through Persulfidating EBF2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that Cars2, a cysteine catabolic enzyme in mouse iBAT, is critical for cold tolerance and brown adipocyte differentiation. Through its CPERS activity, Cars2 produces CysSSH/H2S to induce EBF2 persulfidation, promoting its interaction with PPARγ and BRG1 to enhance thermogenic gene expression.

Inhibition of Adipogenesis by Diphlorethohydroxycarmalol (DPHC) through AMPK Activation in Adipocytes

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2019
The purpose of this study was to investigate the antiobesity effect and the mechanism of action of diphlorethohydroxycarmalol (DPHC) isolated from Ishige okamurae in 3T3-L1 cells.

Galectin-12 in Cellular Differentiation, Apoptosis and Polarization. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Galectin-12 is a member of a family of mammalian lectins characterized by their affinity for β-galactosides and consensus amino acid sequences. The protein structure consists of a single polypeptide chain containing two carbohydrate-recognition domains ...

Irisin regulates thermogenesis and lipolysis in 3T3-L1 adipocytes

open access: yesBiochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 2022
Adipose tissue plays a pivotal role in the development and progression of the metabolic syndrome which along with its complications is an epidemic of the 21st century. Irisin is an adipo-myokine secreted mainly by skeletal muscle and targeting, among others, adipose tissue.

Detachment‐Induced FAK‐STAT3‐NNMT Inhibits CTCs Anoikis to Promote Breast Cancer Metastasis by Enhancing Fatty Acid Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The FAK‐STAT3‐NNMT axis drives anoikis resistance in circulating tumor cells by reprogramming fatty acid oxidation. Targeting this metabolic vulnerability suppresses metastasis, untangling a key mechanism of breast cancer progression and revealing NNMT as a promising therapeutic target.

The NAD(P)H oxidase homolog Nox4 modulates insulin-stimulated generation of H\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3e0\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3e and plays an integral role in insulin signal transduction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Insulin stimulation of target cells elicits a burst of H2O2 that enhances tyrosine phosphorylation of the insulin receptor and its cellular substrate proteins as well as distal signaling events in the insulin action cascade.
