N-Acylation of Oxazolidinones via Aerobic Oxidative NHC Catalysis [PDF]
In the ongoing quest to find alternatives to atom un-economical and forcing conditions in acylation reactions, aerobic oxidative NHC catalysis has emerged as a method to convert aldehydes to potent acylating reagents.

Biocatalytic approach to the chemoselective acylation of sesquiterpene lactones from chicory: a pathway to novel ester derivatives [PDF]
In this study, we explore the use of the immobilized lipase Novozym 435 in the selective acylation of chicory sesquiterpene lactones (STLs) - lactucin (Lc), 11β,13-dihydrolactucin (DHLc), lactucopicrin (Lp), and 11β,13-dihydrolactucopicrin (DHLp) - using

Assaying protein palmitoylation in plants
Background Protein S-acylation (also known as palmitoylation) is the reversible post-translational addition of acyl lipids to cysteine residues in proteins through a thioester bond. It allows strong association with membranes.

Histone acylation marks respond to metabolic perturbations and enable cellular adaptation
Acetylation is the most studied histone acyl modification and has been recognized as a fundamental player in metabolic gene regulation, whereas other short-chain acyl modifications have only been recently identified, and little is known about their ...

Chemoenzymatic Synthesis of Well‐Defined α(2,8)‐ and α(2,9)‐Linked Oligosialosides
Well‐defined α(2,8)‐ and α(2,9)‐linked oligosialic acids of different lengths can be prepared by employing recombinant bacterial polysialyltransferases in combination with chemically modified CMP‐Neu5Ac derivatives. After transfer, a sialoside is formed bearing an artificial entity, which blocks further glycosylation.

Chiral isothiourea-catalyzed kinetic resolution of 4-hydroxy[2.2]paracyclophane
We herein report a method for the kinetic resolution of racemic 4-hydroxy[2.2]paracyclophane by means of a chiral isothiourea-catalyzed acylation with isobutyric anhydride.

Palmitoylation as a Key Regulator of Ras Localization and Function
Ras proteins require membrane association for proper function. This process is tightly regulated by reversible palmitoylation that controls not only the distribution over different subcellular compartments but also Ras compartmentalization within ...

Lactate in cervical cancer induces HNRNPU K181 lactylation, opposed by NAA50‐mediated acetylation and suppressed by Pazopanib. This lactylation enhances HNRNPU binding to PHGDH pre‐mRNA exon 1, maintaining exon 1‐containing transcripts and mRNA stability, thereby activating serine metabolism.

Rediscovering the double Friedel-Crafts acylation : an expedient entry to phenanthrene-9,10-diones [PDF]
The double Friedel–Crafts acylation of readily accessible biaryls with oxalyl chloride delivers the respective phenanthrene-9,10-diones, providing an alternative to the traditional methods, which require harsh oxidizing conditions and multistep sequences.

A Lipid‐Conjugation Strategy for Intracellular Reactive Oxygen Species Control in Hepatic Cells
A lipid conjugation strategy anchors a manganese Salen complex within phospholipid membranes, yielding stable, catalytically active liposomes. These lipid–metal assemblies efficiently degrade reactive oxygen species (ROS) and enable intracellular redox control in steatotic HepaRG cells, offering a precise route to biomimetic antioxidant design ...
