Functional characterization of Angptl4 protein
Background: Elevated plasma triglycerides (TG) are increasingly recognized as a risk factor for atherosclerosis. A new adipocytokine was discovered by several groups which is referred to as Angptl4 (Angiopoietin-like protein 4).

ANGPTL4: A Comprehensive Review of 25 Years of Research
Angiopoietin-like 4 (ANGPTL4) is a secreted glycoprotein that was discovered in 2000 by three independent laboratories. In the ensuing two and a half decades, extensive work has been conducted to determine its physiological and pathological functions.

Angiopoietin‐like 4 is a potential biomarker for diabetic kidney disease in type 2 diabetes patients
Aims/Introduction The association between serum angiopoietin‐like 4 (ANGPTL4) levels and the severity of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus remains unclear.

Abstract figure legend Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) impacts on succinate metabolism and angiogenesis in the umbilical cord endothelium. (Left Panel) Succinate levels increase in both maternal and fetal circulation at delivery, with higher concentrations observed in GDM pregnancies compared to controls during late gestation.

Immunohistochemical staining of ANGPTL4.
ANGPTL4 staining (brown) at the wound site immediately (day0) after wounding, and at days 1, 2, 3, 7 and 14 after wounding. Images are representative of n = 3.

ANGPTL4 regulates plasma lipids, making it an attractive target for correcting dyslipidemia. However, ANGPTL4 inactivation in mice fed a high fat diet causes chylous ascites, an acute-phase response, and mesenteric lymphadenopathy.

Probiotics upregulate ANGPTL4 expression in colonic cell lines.
A) Real-time PCR of ANGPTL4 mRNA in HCT116 cells co-cultured with Lactobacillus F19 (F19; 107/ml), Bifidobacterium lactis (BB12; 107/ml) and Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron (B.theta; 107/ml) respectively for 6 h were compared to non-treated (NT) control. B)

TAZ Regulates the Cisplatin Resistance of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Cells via the ANGPTL4/SOX2 Axis
OBJECTIVE: Epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is a fatal gynecological malignancy. This study explored the mechanism of TAZ in regulating drug sensitivity of cisplatin (DDP-)-resistant EOC cells through the ANGPTL4/SOX2 axis.

A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.
