Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Synthetic LXR agonist attenuates plaque formation in apoE-/- mice without inducing liver steatosis and hypertriglyceridemias⃞

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2009
Liver X receptors (LXRs) are important regulators of cholesterol and lipid metabolism. LXR agonists have been shown to limit the cellular cholesterol content by inducing reverse cholesterol transport, increasing bile acid production, and inhibiting ...

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

MicroRNAs in non-small cell lung cancer: Gene regulation, impact on cancer cellular processes, and therapeutic potential. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Lung cancer remains the most lethal cancer among men and women in the United States and worldwide. The majority of lung cancer cases are classified as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Developing new therapeutics on the basis of better understanding of

Selenium‐Based Nanoplatforms: An Emerging Theranostic Paradigm for Gynecological Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This reivew summarizes Selenium as a multifunctional anticancer regulator in gynecological cancers. It reduces tumor risk, enhances therapeutic efficacy, and reduces treatment toxicity. Selenium also overcomes chemoraditherapy resistance, improving overall treatment outcomes. ABSTRACT Gynecological cancers present significant therapeutic challenges due

Tanshinone IIA suppresses cholesterol accumulation in human macrophages: role of heme oxygenase-1[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2014
Accumulation of foam cells in the neointima represents a key event in atherosclerosis. We previously demonstrated that Tanshinone IIA (Tan), a lipophilic bioactive compound extracted from Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge, inhibits experimental atherogenesis ...

Immunoglobulin domains in Escherichia coli and other enterobacteria: from pathogenesis to applications in antibody technologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The immunoglobulin (Ig) protein domain is widespread in nature having a well-recognized role in proteins of the immune system. In this review, we describe the proteins containing Ig-like domains in Escherichia coli and entero-bacteria, reporting their ...

Mosaic activation of the zebrafish hsp70l heat shock promoter: Implications for interpreting transgenes

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The promoters and enhancers of heat shock genes, such as the 1.5‐kb promoter of the zebrafish hsp70l gene, are valuable tools for temporal activation of transgenes. It has been widely purported that heat shock treatments result in ubiquitous expression of hsp70l‐driven transgenes.

Astragalus Flavone Ameliorates Atherosclerosis and Hepatic Steatosis Via Inhibiting Lipid-Disorder and Inflammation in apoE−/− Mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
Atherosclerosis is a major pathogenic driver of cardiovascular diseases. Foam cell formation plays a key role in atherogenesis, which is affected by lipid disorder and inflammation.
