6-(7-Nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-ylthio)hexanol, a specific glutathione S-transferase inhibitor, overcomes the multidrug resistance (MDR)-associated protein 1-mediated MDR in small cell lung cancer [PDF]
In the present work, we have investigated the antitumor activity of 6-(7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-ylthio)hexanol (NBDHEX) on aggressive small cell lung cancer. NBDHEX not only is cytotoxic toward the parental small cell lung cancer H69 cell line (LC50

Oral Mucositis in Oncopediatric Patients: MTX and MMP‐1, MMP‐8, MMP‐13 Gene Polymorphisms
ABSTRACT Background This study investigates the association between single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the MMP‐1, MMP‐8, and MMP‐13 genes and the risk of oral mucositis development in paediatric patients with leukaemia and lymphoma who are undergoing methotrexate (MTX) treatment.

Among 5307 southern Chinese adults, higher TyG index and mINFLA score were associated with increased HUA risk and serum UA levels (p trend < 0.001). A significant interaction was observed between these two indicators. Notably, the TyG index mediated 15.4% of the mINFLA‐HUA association and 14.5% of the mINFLA‐UA association.

Stronger inflammatory/cytotoxic T cell response in women identified by microarray analysis [PDF]
Women develop chronic inflammatory autoimmune diseases like lupus more often than men. The mechanisms causing the increased susceptibility are incompletely understood, although estrogen is believed to contribute.

The role of epithelial-to-mesenchymal plasticity in ovarian cancer progression and therapy resistance [PDF]
Ovarian cancer is the most lethal of all gynecologic malignancies and the eighth leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women worldwide. The main reasons for this poor prognosis are late diagnosis; when the disease is already in an advanced stage ...

From Adipose Tissue to Cardiac Repair: Extracellular Vesicles in Cardiovascular Regeneration
ABSTRACT Adipose‐derived extracellular vesicles (ADEVs) secreted by adipose tissue have gained increasing attention due to their regenerative and immunomodulatory properties in cardiovascular diseases. They carry proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids that mediate intercellular communication and influence cardiac pathophysiology. In atherosclerosis, ADEVs

ABCG1 maintains high-grade glioma survival in vitro and in vivo [PDF]
The overall survival for adults with malignant glioma (glioblastoma) remains poor despite advances in radiation and chemotherapy. One of the mechanisms by which cancer cells develop relative resistance to treatment is through de-regulation of endoplasmic
