Compression‐Induced Amorphization of ZIF‐62 Leading to Formation of Porous Glass: Overcoming the Limitations of Current Methods

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
Nonhydrostatic compression in steps is applied to transform crystalline zeolitic imidazolate framework‐62 into glass at room temperature. This method overcomes the limitations of existing approaches. This research reveals the mechanism of this phase transformation, including modifications in porosity, using various techniques, particularly positron ...

QSAR study and molecular docking of benzimidazole derivatives as potent activators of AMP-activated protein kinase

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2017
3D-QSAR and molecular docking methods were performed on a set of 74 benzimidazole derivatives previously studied as activators of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a protein that plays a key role in the regulation of cellular energy balance ...

Post‐Mortem Identification and Toxicological Findings of Fluetonitazepyne and Isotonitazepyne

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
In early 2025, five death cases in Finland tested positive for fluetonitazepyne and one for isotonitazepyne in urine drug screening. A peak corresponding to O‐dealkylated fluetonitazepyne, the 4‐OH‐nitazepyne metabolite, was present in all fluetonitazepyne‐positive urine samples and was later used in the identification of isotonitazepynein one fatal ...

[3]Radialene fluorophores with pH‐switchable emission and stable absorption maxima

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
We report on the first push‐pull quino [3]radialene fluorescent dye. Here, the novel bis(dicyanomethylene)‐[3]radialene electron acceptor was connected to a benzimidazole donor. With protonation a substantial red‐shift of fluorescence wavelength is observed, while the absorption maximum remains stable.
