Cadherins and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a process whereby epithelial cells are transcriptionally reprogrammed, resulting in decreased adhesion and enhanced migration or invasion.

We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Adhesion Molecules. I: Keratinocyte-Keratinocyte Interactions; Cadherins and Pemphigus
During the last few years, considerable progress has been made in our understanding of the structure and function of cadherins and of the pathophysiology of pemphigus.

Microfabricated Anisotropic Myobundles for the Scalable Production of Cardiac Tissue Grafts
Controlling the anisotropy of cardiac tissue remains an outstanding challenge in the field of cardiac tissue engineering. Here, we introduce an approach to generate anisotropic cardiac myobundles using cell‐adhesive, synthetic, electrospun fibers and stem cell‐derived cardiac fibroblasts.

Retinal cadherins and the retinal cadherinopathies: current concepts and future directions
Cadherins are a superfamily of calcium-dependent intercellular adhesion molecules that are widely expressed in living tissues. Within the retina and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), cadherins contribute to tissue morphogenesis, neural circuit formation,

Mechanical and Electrical Phenotype of hiPSC‐Cardiomyocytes on Fibronectin‐Based Hydrogels
We introduce fibronectin‐based PEG hydrogels with controlled rigidity to enable the culture of iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes. These substrates offer an alternative to the current culture of these cells on fibronectin‐coated glass, providing enhanced structural and functional behavior. The system provides a more physiologically relevant platform to assess

Cadherin specificity in adhesion and mechanotransduction
Cadherins mediate Ca2+ dependent cell-cell junction in all animal tissues. Tight regulation of cadherin adhesion plays critical roles in diverse biological processes.

Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...
