ISO-stimulated cADPR and NAADP production in cardiomyocytes.

open access: yes, 2016
(A) Time course of cADPR and NAADP production following ISO treatment. (B and C) Differential effects of Ca2+ second messenger inhibitors on ISO-induced cADPR and NAADP formation ...

Emerging role of cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR) in smooth muscle

open access: yes, 2005
Cyclic adenosine diphosphate ribose (cADPR) is a naturally occurring cyclic nucleotide and represents a novel class of endogenous Ca2+ messengers implicated in the regulation of the gating properties of ryanodine receptors (RyRs).

Research progress on the role of inflammatory mediators in the pathogenesis of epilepsy

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 44-58, Spring 2025.
In the central nervous system, activated immune cells lead to the overproduction of inflammatory mediators through the corresponding signal pathway. Under the stimulation of inflammatory factors, neuroinflammation ultimately occurs. Overexpression of inflammatory mediators and activated immunocytes plays an important role in the emergence and ...

Tissue‐Resident Macrophage in Inflammation and Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Opposing macrophage functions in inflammation and cancer converge on shared mechanistic nodes, informing cross‐disease therapeutic strategies. ABSTRACT Tissue‐resident macrophages (TRMs) are long‐lived immune cells strategically distributed across organs, where their functional plasticity enables both homeostatic maintenance and pathological ...

Comment on "the Arabiclopsis circadian clock incorporates a cADPR-based feedback loop"

open access: yes, 2009
Dodd et al. (Reports, 14 December 2007, p. 1789) reported that the Arabidopsis circadian clock incorporates the signaling molecule cyclic adenosine diphosphate ribose (cADPR In contrast, we found that there is no rhythm of cADPR levels nor are there any ...

Regulation of Renin Release via Cyclic ADP-Ribose-Mediated Signaling: Evidence from Mice Lacking CD38 Gene

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2013
Background/Aims: Despite extensive studies, the intracellular regulatory mechanism of renin production and release is still poorly understood. The present study was designed to test whether CD38-ADP-ribosylcyclase signaling pathway contributes to the ...

Ryanodine Receptor 1 Is Dispensable for CD4+ T‐Cell Differentiation and Effector Function in Intestinal Inflammation Models

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 8, August 2026.
Ryr1 deletion reduces Ca2+ microdomains and delays global Ca2+ signaling in naïve CD4+ T cells but does not impair their activation, proliferation, or differentiation in vitro. Despite altered Ca2+ signaling, Ryr1 expression in CD4+ T cells was dispensable for their pathogenicity in murine models of intestinal inflammation.

Nicotinamide riboside supplementation corrects deficits in oxytocin, sociability and anxiety of CD157 mutants in a mouse model of autism spectrum disorder

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
Oxytocin (OT) is a critical molecule for social recognition and memory that mediates social and emotional behaviours. In addition, OT acts as an anxiolytic factor and is released during stress. Based on the activity of CD38 as an enzyme that produces the

Nucleotide Metabolism in Health and Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
Nucleotide metabolism, including de novo synthesis, salvage pathways, and catabolism, when dysregulated contributes to cancer, immune disorders, metabolic and urological diseases, and radiation injury. Metabolites such as adenosine, cGAMP, NAD, and cAMP and enzymes like RNR are promising therapeutic targets and biomarkers.
