Histological and Cytological Responses of Genotypes From Capsicum spp. to Meloidogyne enterolobii

open access: yesJournal of Phytopathology, Volume 174, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT Sweet and chilli peppers (Capsicum spp.) are widely cultivated horticultural crops, but they are highly susceptible to root‐knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.). Among them, Meloidogyne enterolobii stands out for its aggressive parasitism and the severe damage it causes to economically important crops. This study aimed to describe and compare the

Rhizosphere Fungi of Red Pepper (Capsicum frutescens)

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Food Sciences, 2011
Fungi present in the rhizosphere and rhizoplane of Capsicum frutescens at different stages of plant growth were studied. The experimental soil was loamy sand in texture. The pH of the rhizosphere soil in the field ranged from 6.4 to 6.7 and in the pots, it ranged from 6.3 to 6.8.

Soil Phosphatase Enzyme Activity as Influenced by Agro‐Ecological Zones in Central Nepal

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Soil Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Soil is a dynamic ecosystem that sustains a diverse community of organisms, enhancing its vitality and functions. Biochemical processes within the soil contribute to its active nature, with enzymes produced by organisms and plants playing roles in reactions. Phosphatases hydrolyze organic phosphorus to plant‐available phosphate ions.

Can Capsicum spp. genotypes resist simultaneous damage by both Phytophthora capsici and Bemisia tabaci? Can natural enemies of Bemisia complement plant resistance?

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution
Capsicum (Solanaceae) includes peppers and chilies. Phytophthora capsici (Peronosporaceae) and Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) are two relevant problems in the production of this genus.
