CD39: Interface Between Vascular Thrombosis and Inflammation [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Atherosclerosis Reports, 2014
Extracellular nucleotides play a critical role in vascular thrombosis and inflammation. Alterations in purinergic extracellular nucleotide concentrations activate pathways that result in platelet degranulation and aggregation, and endothelial and leukocyte activation and recruitment.

CD39/CD73/A2AR pathway and cancer immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2023
AbstractCancer development is closely associated with immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) that attenuates antitumor immune responses and promotes tumor cell immunologic escape. The sequential conversion of extracellular ATP into adenosine by two important cell-surface ectonucleosidases CD39 and CD73 play critical roles in reshaping an ...

A humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD39 with novel mechanism for cancer treatment

open access: yesMedicine in Drug Discovery, 2021
ATP-adenosine signal axis plays an import role in tumor immune regulation. ATP released by tumor cells can promote antitumor immunity, and adenosine can suppress the immune response.

Chronic HBV Infection Disrupts CCL5‐Secreting cNK Cells and Attenuates Liver Accumulation and Activation of DCs and HBV‐Specific T Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ADORA2A activation suppresses NFκB‐dependent CCL5 production in cNK cells during chronic HBV infection, disrupting intrahepatic DC recruitment and HBV‐specific CD8+ T‐cell differentiation and function. Targeting the ADORA2A/NFκB/CCL5 axis restores antiviral immunity and facilitates HBV clearance.

open access: yes, 2022
학위논문(박사) - 한국과학기술원 : 의과학대학원, 2022.2,[v, 57 p. :]Despite CD39 expression on tumor-infiltrating $CD8^+$ T cells have been mostly highlighted as a marker for exhausted cells or tumor antigen-reactive cells, CD39 is known to play a role in immuno-suppressive

Inosine‐Triphosphate‐Pyrophosphatase Activity as a Potential Predictor of Methotrexate Remission in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Methotrexate (MTX) is the first‐line therapy for juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), but up to 40% of patients do not respond to it. Low inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase (ITPA) activity has been associated with reduced clinical remission. We investigated the role and underlying mechanisms of ITPA in vitro. Methods ITPA enzymatic activity

Interleukin‐2 Deprived State of Regulatory T cells and Their Recovery by Low‐Dose Interleukin‐2 in Patients With Inflammatory Myopathies

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Regeneration and expansion of Treg by low‐dose interleukin‐2 (IL‐2) therapy is considered a potential treatment strategy for a wide range of autoimmune diseases. To provide a pathophysiologically‐based rationale for low‐dose IL‐2 therapy, we investigated whether reversible defects in the Treg–IL‐2 axis emerge in inflammatory myopathies ...

Expression of CD39 and CD73 ectonucleotidases and associated ectoenzymatic activity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
(A) Mean (+SEM) frequency of (A) CD39+ cells, (B) CD39 mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) and of (C) CD39+CD73+ cells within CD4mem at baseline and within Th17, iT-reg and supTh17. Results from 12 healthy subjects are shown. *P≤0.05; **P≤0.01; ***P≤0.001.

Generation and characterization of antagonistic anti-human CD39 nanobodies

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
CD39 is the major enzyme controlling the levels of extracellular adenosine triphosphate (ATP) via the stepwise hydrolysis of ATP to adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine monophosphate (AMP).
