CD44-Targeted Multifunctional Nanomedicines Based on a Single-Component Hyaluronic Acid Conjugate with All-Natural Precursors: Construction and Treatment of Metastatic Breast Tumors in Vivo

open access: yes, 2019
Metastasis is responsible for >90% of the deaths of breast cancer patients in the clinic. Here, we report on cross-linked multifunctional hyaluronic acid nanoparticles carrying docetaxel (DTX-CMHN) for enhanced suppression of highly metastatic 4T1 breast

LMO7 Suppresses Tumor‐Associated Macrophage Phagocytosis of Tumor Cells Through Degradation of LRP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LMO7 in tumor‐associated macrophages suppresses phagocytosis of tumor cells and limits cytotoxic T lymphocytes infiltration, fostering tumor progression. Mechanistically, LMO7 mediates the ubiquitination and degradation of the phagocytic receptor LRP1, impairing its ability to engulf tumor cells and driving macrophages toward an antitumor phenotype ...

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

CD44 in rheumatoid arthritis.

open access: yesArthritis research & therapy, 2003
CD44 is a multistructural cell-surface glycoprotein that can theoretically generate close to 800 isoforms by differential alternative splicing. At present, several dozen isoforms are known. The polymorphic nature of CD44 might explain its multifunctionality and its ability to interact with many cell-surface and extracellular ligands, the principal one ...

rWTC‐MBTA Vaccine, Alone and Enhanced with Anti‐PD1, Elicits Immune Responses against CNS and Peripheral B‐Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An autologous whole‐tumor‐cell vaccine (rWTC‐MBTA) is evaluated in murine CNS lymphoma. Subcutaneous vaccination activates dendritic cells, broadens T‐cell priming, and drives lymphocyte trafficking to brain tumors, producing durable tumor control. Longitudinal bioluminescence and adoptive‐transfer assays verify CNS engagement. Combination with anti‐PD‐

Characterisation of apoptotic responses in human keratinocytes expressnig alpha-6 integrin and CD44

open access: yes, 2010
PhDa6 integrin has previously been proposed as a human keratinocyte stem cell markers. CD44-positive cells in epithelial tumours have been identified as potential cancer stem cells (CSCs) and display increased survival following chemotherapy ...

CD44 involvement in T1D.

open access: yes, 2015
Three CD44-dependent pathways affect the fate of T1D in NOD mice. I. CD44 involvement in inflammatory cell migration (blue). Inflammation upregulates CD44 on the islet-infiltrating cells.

Understanding and Overcoming Antibody‐Drug Conjugate Resistance: Biological Mechanisms and Emerging Analytical Frameworks in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) transform breast cancer therapy, yet resistance limits their durability. Emerging evidence reveals that ADC failure is not solely tumor‐intrinsic but shaped by dynamic tumor–microenvironment interactions that alter drug delivery, processing, and response.

The characterization of CD44high cells and CD44low cells.

open access: yes, 2013
A: FACS plots of CD44 positive cells from glial-enriched cellular fraction of P3 mouse cerebellum. There was overlap in the histogram of cell number vs fluorescence intensity of CD44 antibody staining (CD44–PE) between the CD44-positive population and ...
