EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS OF CONDENSED TANNINS IN CASTANEA SATIVA MILL. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2010
Proanthocyanidins, also known as condensed tannins are widespread in woody plants, but are also found in certain forages. Castanea sativa Mill. are exploited for various purposes, but a little is known about potential of this species and possible ...

Organ‐specific ozone and nitrogen legacies strengthen substrate control over litter decomposition

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Elevated tropospheric ozone (O3) and nitrogen (N) deposition are concurrent atmospheric changes that strongly influence terrestrial carbon cycling, yet their combined effects on below‐ground decomposition remain poorly understood.

Investigation into the dyeing of pre‐mordanted & cationised woven cotton fabric with cochineal

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Dyeing cotton with natural dyes typically requires the pre‐application of a mordant, which enables better dye exhaustion from solution and ‘fixes’ the colorant in the fibre. The most common application system for cellulosic fibres is a combination of plant‐derived tannins and aluminium salts, such as aluminium sulphate.

The effects of irradiance on the production of phenolic compounds and condensed tannins in Larix gmelinii needles

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2014
Needles of Larix gmelinii seedlings grown under different irradiances (100, 52, and 26 % of natural sunlight) were collected from June to August 2009. The content of phenolic compounds and condensed tannins in needles were strongly affected by different ...

Effects of Direct Steam Injection and Spray‐Drying on the Physicochemical, Nutritional, and Functional Properties of Black Bean Protein Concentrates

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 3, September 2026.
Effects of direct steam injection and spray‐drying on the physicochemical, nutritional, and functional properties of black bean protein concentrates. ABSTRACT Direct steam injection (DSI) and spray‐drying are key unit operations in the industrial production of pulse protein ingredients that are often overlooked in laboratory‐scale studies.
