Combining corpus and experimental studies: insights into the reception of translated medical texts

open access: yesJoSTrans: The Journal of Specialised Translation, 2017
This experimental study combines corpus-based translation studies (CBTS) and Cognitive TS (CTS) in order to study the reception of translated medical websites from English into Spanish in the USA.

Possibilities of Language Technology in Lexical Analyses of Canonical Hungarian Bible Translations

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai. Theologia Reformata Transylvanica
The paper tries to attempt an unorthodox analysis of contemporary Hungarian Bible translations by using the software Sketch Engine. An important condition for computer-assisted linguistic analysis is a sufficient amount of textual data.

LEAD: Literature Enhanced Ab Initio Discovery of Nitride Dusting Layers for Enhanced Tunnel Magnetoresistance and Lower Resistance Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...

Word-aligned Parallel Corpus of Plato’s Crito in Persian: A Pedagogical Approach to Digital Annotations

open access: yesJournal of Open Humanities Data
In this paper, we present a parallel corpus of Ancient Greek-Persian texts of Plato’s Crito, based on learners’ translations. This data has been developed through a corpus-driven approach to teaching Ancient Greek using digital annotations and parallel ...

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Why Translation Is Difficult: A Corpus-Based Study of Non-Literality in Post-Editing and From-Scratch Translation

open access: yesHermes, 2017
The paper develops a definition of translation literality that is based on the syntactic and semantic similarity of the source and the target texts. We provide theoretical and empirical evidence that absolute literal translations are easy to produce ...

Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.
