A comprehensive meta-analysis and a case–control study give insights into genetic susceptibility of lung cancer and subgroups

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Reports of genetic association of polymorphisms with lung cancer in the Indian subcontinent are often conflicting. To summarise and replicate published evidence for association with lung cancer and its subgroups. We performed a meta-analysis of candidate

CYP1A1 and Cnr nitroreductase bioactivated niclosamide in vitro [PDF]

open access: yesMutagenesis, 2013
Abstract Niclosamide produces genotoxic effects, such as point mutations in Salmonella sp., sperm-head abnormalities in mice and clastogenic effects in human lymphocytes in vitro and in vivo. As cytochrome P450 could be involved in the bioactivation of niclosamide, we investigated which subfamily was involved.

Daytime Restricted Feeding Modifies the Temporal Expression of CYP1A1 and Attenuated Damage Induced by Benzo[a]pyrene in Rat Liver When Administered before CYP1A1 Acrophase

open access: yesToxics, 2021
The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor that heterodimerizes with the AhR nuclear translocator (ARNT) to modulate CYP1A1 expression, a gene involved in the biotransformation of benzo[a]pyrene (BaP).

CYP1A1, Cigarette Smoking, and Colon and Rectal Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Epidemiology, 2004
Cytochrome P-450 (CYP) is involved in the activation and metabolism of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in tobacco products. The authors evaluated the association of two polymorphisms in the CYP1A1 gene--the noncoding Msp I polymorphism in the 3'-untranslated region and the Ile462Val polymorphism in exon 7--with colon and rectal cancer.

Environmental Pesticide Exposure in the Etiology of Pediatric Brain Tumors and Leukemia: A Scoping Review of Epidemiological Studies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric cancer is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in children. The etiologies of pediatric cancer are largely unknown, but environmental pesticide exposures are likely to contribute. Chronic low‐dose exposure to pesticide mixtures through drinking water is a growing concern in agricultural communities.

The Impact of Genetic Polymorphisms on Genotoxicity (DNA Damage) Among Children Exposed to Environmental Mutagens: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Children, as a particularly vulnerable group, are more susceptible to these mutagens due to their developing immune systems, higher physiological vulnerability, and increased exposure through behaviors like outdoor play and hand‐to‐mouth activities. This review aims to investigate the relationship between these environmental exposures, genetic

Kaempferol Protects Intestinal Health in Chinese Forest Musk Deer Possibly by Regulating Intestinal Microbiota and Inhibiting the NF‐κB/NLRP3 Signaling Pathway

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Kaempferol modulates the tryptophan metabolism pathway by increasing the abundances of Christensenellaceae R7 group, Bacteroides, and Blautia and reducing that of Rikenellaceae RC9 gut group, thereby significantly increasing the levels of ILA and IAA. This process inhibits the activation of NF‐κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway, reduces pro‐inflammatory factor

POLYMORPHISMS OF THE CYP1A1, CYP1A2, CYP19, AND SULT1A1 GENES ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH INFERTILITY IN WOMEN WITH GENITAL ENDOMETRIOSIS

open access: yesФундаментальная и клиническая медицина, 2018
Aim. To estimate whether CYP1A1, CYP1A2, CYP19, SULT1A1 gene polymorphisms are associated with genital endometriosis in infertile women. Materials and Methods.

Serotonin is an endogenous regulator of intestinal CYP1A1 via AhR

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is a nuclear receptor that controls xenobiotic detoxification via induction of cytochrome P450 1A1 (CYP1A1) and regulates immune responses in the intestine.

Factors Associated With Long‐Term Survivors With Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Positive Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer Treated With First or Second‐Generation Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors: A Canadian Multi‐Center Cohort

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, EarlyView.
In a multi‐center Canadian cohort of 577 patients with advanced epidermal growth factor receptor‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer treated with first/second‐generation TKIs, Asian ancestry and female sex predicted longer survival, while the L858R mutation predicted shorter survival.
