Sustained Delivery of Difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) by Means of Implantable Ceramic Devices
A total of 25 Sprague-Dawley albino male rats were assigned to five groups, each group consisting of five rats. Polylactic acid-impregnated ALCAP capsules filled with 40 mg DFMO were implanted subcutaneously (sc) or intraperitoneally (ip) in group I and II rats, respectively.

ODC1 Polyamine Metabolism Drives Prostate Cancer via AKT and Splicing
ABSTRACT Prostate cancer is an aggressive disease with limited quantifiable biomarkers. One gene of interest is ODC1, which encodes ornithine decarboxylase, the rate‐limiting enzyme converting ornithine to putrescine in polyamine metabolism. Although ODC1 is known to be involved in prostate cancer development, exactly how it drives the disease ...

Objective Gout caused by the formation of monosodium urate (MSU) crystals and calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) deposition disease are two major types of microcrystalline pathologies in adults. They are responsible for recurrent flares that rely on interleukin (IL) 1β via activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome.

Microbial metabolites in tumor epigenetic regulation
The gut microbiome modulates tumor epigenetic regulation through bioactive metabolites derived from dietary substrates. Microbiota‐produced SCFAs, secondary BAs, one‐carbon metabolites, and tryptophan‐derived ligands regulate histone acetylation, DNA methylation, and chromatin remodeling via HDAC, DNMT, AhR, and metabolic cofactor‐dependent pathways ...
