Body size as a mediator of climatic effects: Insights from a long-term study of social Iberian magpies. [PDF]
Abstract The importance of considering body size in assessing evolutionary responses to climatic change is increasingly recognized, as body size correlates with morphological, physiological, and ecological traits that are climate‐sensitive and influence fitness.

Abstract The tropical Andes are one of the most important biodiversity hotspots on Earth, yet our understanding of how their biotas have responded to Quaternary climatic oscillations is extraordinarily limited and the alternative models proposed to explain their demographic dynamics have been seldom formally evaluated. Here, we test the hypothesis that

Temperature synchronizes temporal variation in laying dates across European hole‐nesting passerines
Abstract Identifying the environmental drivers of variation in fitness‐related traits is a central objective in ecology and evolutionary biology. Temporal fluctuations of these environmental drivers are often synchronized at large spatial scales. Yet, whether synchronous environmental conditions can generate spatial synchrony in fitness‐related trait ...

Unravelling the historical biogeography of the European rabbit subspecies in the Iberian Peninsula
We used biogeographical spatial models to understand the biogeography of the two subspecies of European rabbit that are found in the Iberian Peninsula. After the last glaciation, each subspecies expanded from its own isolated core, as suggested by the two maps.
