Design and Synthesis of Polyamine‐Proteolysis Targeting Chimera Conjugates for Histone Deacetylase (HDAC) Degradation with Enhanced Cellular Uptake

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
In this article, proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs) bearing a polyamine linker capable of crossing cancer cell membranes via the polyamine transport system are synthesized and evaluated. The results provide valuable insights for the design of PROTACs with enhanced cellular uptake efficiency.

Supplementary Figure S4 from Unbiased Metabolite Profiling Indicates That a Diminished Thymidine Pool Is the Underlying Mechanism of Colon Cancer Chemoprevention by Alpha-Difluoromethylornithine

open access: yes, 2013
Supplementary Figure S4 - PDF file 23K, Fig S4. DFMO Normal Human Colon Tissue. Normal human colon tissues were treated with DFMO(300nM) for 4 days. After treatment metabolites were extracted and analyzed by LC MS/MS.

ODC1 Polyamine Metabolism Drives Prostate Cancer via AKT and Splicing

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 5, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Prostate cancer is an aggressive disease with limited quantifiable biomarkers. One gene of interest is ODC1, which encodes ornithine decarboxylase, the rate‐limiting enzyme converting ornithine to putrescine in polyamine metabolism. Although ODC1 is known to be involved in prostate cancer development, exactly how it drives the disease ...

Elucidating the Role of Chmp1 Overexpression in the Transport of Polyamines in Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesMedical Sciences, 2022
Polyamines are small organic cations that are essential for many biological processes such as cell proliferation and cell cycle progression. While the metabolism of polyamines has been well studied, the mechanisms by which polyamines are transported into

Modulation of Network Plasticity Opens Novel Therapeutic Possibilities in Cancer, Diabetes, and Neurodegeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 12, 27 February 2026.
Plasticity changes of molecular networks form a cellular learning process. Signaling network plasticity promotes cancer, metastasis, and drug resistance development. 55 plasticity‐related cancer drug targets are listed (20 having already approved drugs, 9 investigational drugs, and 26 being drug target candidates).

Spermidine Reproduces the Anti‐Inflammatory Effects of Intermittent Fasting and Prevents Urate and Calcium Pyrophosphate Crystal‐Induced Inflammation

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 2, Page 449-462, February 2026.
Objective Gout caused by the formation of monosodium urate (MSU) crystals and calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) deposition disease are two major types of microcrystalline pathologies in adults. They are responsible for recurrent flares that rely on interleukin (IL) 1β via activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome.
